I know someone who has put her Rolex in an ultrasonic cleaner every now and then for over six years now, without any issues, but I guess I should better not take any risks!

I've sent an email to Rolex to ask whether it's okay a minute ago, but I guess the answer will be a big :nogood: ... which is too bad, because it really seems to work! :smile1:

Anyways, I also agree that it depends on the workplace whether or not it is okay to wear a diamond Rolex.

Since Rolexes are waterproof, I'd assume it's okay to let the whole watch sit in soapy solution to clean it, but has anyone actually done that? Or just the bracelet? I'm too chicken $hit to just do it without asking all of you experts! :p

When I give my Rolex "a bath", I let it (= the entire watch, not just the bracelet) sit in a soapy solution for a couple of minutes and then I gently clean it with a baby toothbrush.
An SA at the Rolex store in Paris (Place Vendôme) recommended this to me.

Yes, I put the whole watch in some mildly soaped warm water, swish it and rinse. A soft toothbrush is also fine. It looks so much better when clean, that's for sure, and more importantly it keeps the bracelet in good shape (prevents the notorious "stretch" of the Jubilee).

I wouldn't put mine in my Sonic cleaner.
Depends on where I work, but it's unlikely I'd wear a diamond Rolex to work.

Why wouldn't you? Do u think its too dressy? Or are you more protective of your diamond pieces? Just curious..

I am a dentist and would love to be able to wear whatever accessory I want to work, because that's where I am most of the week! But to be honest I do find some pieces too dressy\impractical for work.. IDK.. Maybe I wear them like every once in a while?

I wear all my diamonds everyday.
I said "depending on my job" because I don't think I would be comfortable wearing to work where I may deal or work w/ underprivileged, etc. . .
I think it's okay for a dentist.

I'm pretty sure the Rolex brochures that come with the watches state to clean by soaking in mild warm soapy water and scrubbing with a soft brush...

Also, i would wear it every day all the time.

the more you wear it, the more comfortable you'll feel with it every day. eventually it'll start to feel like a part of you (scratches and all :) and you won't want to NOT wear it. I have 2 that I alternate between (one men's sterling silver & white gold, the other yellow gold two-tone with diamonds in the face) and I always feel naked when I can't wear them to fancy events! you will get used to it :)

Thank you ladies! Jellyv, I didn't know Jubilee bracelets stretched!!!! Is that a problem with Oyster or Pearlmaster bracelets as well? :wtf:

The "stretch" is a well-known issue with the older Jubilee bracelets, prior to the SuperJubilee (and not so much the other bracelet types). It's not been reported to be a problem in recent times, with the redesigned bracelet with its solid end links. The loosening or stretch is a matter of rubbing of the joins in the links, because of grit (dirt) getting in there and causing them to wear. Cleaning regularly can prevent that friction.

Wow. I learn something every day! Thanks. :smile1:
