Michael Kors How do you feel when they it TACKY&UGLY?

Oh...the things insecure people say to feel better about themselves. I would rather carry a tacky bag than to be tacky enough to voice such opinions. It's fine to find something to not be your taste or appealing but judging others for their bag is what is truly tacky. There is a lot of hate/harsh opinions towards MK because they do produce a lot of copies. But, other designers do the same and do not catch nearly as much heat. I just bought a Riley. It pretty much looks like LV'S Soft Lock It. I paid a little over $200 vs thousands. Not a care in the world. Tacky? Who cares? It's soft, beautiful leather. They can kiss my behind.

That was so funny and quite visual I might add!! I just love handbags period, so I could care less what anyone else is carrying so long as their happy, satisfied and content with the purchase they made. I buy high and low end because I go through phases quite often and my handbag love runs deep so one day it might be Fendi, the next day coach (vintage only), LV or MK. I not sure where women get that "handbag shaming" from but I won't ever be a part of it. BTW.. I only like vintage coach because the leather is not that thin stuff they make nowadays.

Agreed! There is nothing like the original Coach Glove Tanned leather! If they would just get back to making their bags like THAT, again, they could make a huge comeback. It's sad because they are giving those older bags away now, and they really were so much better quality.

Everyone copies. My hubby's gmc yukon denali looks exactly like a chevy tahoe or suburban. Its no big deal. Automobile industry has done it for years. Some honda's look like mercedes from a distance LOL!! Its flattery and also consumer supply and demand. Handbags are no different. Didn't MK work for Celine YEARS ago? How do we know he didn't have design imput on actual celine bags a long time ago and maybe there is some sort of clause where he cannot claim design rights to it? I thought ALL designs belong to the house. You can still design something similar though without breaking any rules or laws. I guess anyone who adds a quilted pattern to a bag should be sued and put out of business by Chanel? This is a crazy conversation that just goes on and on. BTW.... I am not calling straight up replica/fake bags a form of flattery. I can't say on here what I think fake handbags truly are LOL!!

Unfortunately, i think a lot of things were better quality years ago lol I enjoy my Coach bags but purchase them in a price range imo fitting to what i receive.

Basically i am an equal opportunity purse person, i own many brands, while i do have some i go to more than others all have their positives and negatives, That's why i tend to evaluate items individually vs just saying oh it's this brand so it has to be good, not always the case, quality even within a singular brands varies.

I love the Riley i would grab one myself but here only the peanut color is on sale, i don't want two purses in the same color. I didn't even know LV made a similar style all i see of LV's here are not anything like MK.. not even a little bit...

I own only 1 MK wristlet. Honestly I do not like MK much compared to other brand of equally same price range. My other contemporary designer bags are not considered as luxury either and I am find with that. Because I understand most people on forum consider brand that never go on sale, superb bag quality that lasted more than 40 years like Hermes? And also harder to find or buy as luxury brand. I must admit that I have been lurking Hermes thread a lot, I cannot deny this brand is exceptionally luxury brand, the leather quality and craftsmanship are amazing! Hopefully I will own at least 1 when I work in future. But I'm in high school now, still so many years to go before I can dream of buying 1 Hermes [emoji13]

This only happened in TPF, I'm sure they all know there are many people in the world who cannot even afford to have proper meal and shelter. However they are only relating or comparing bag brands. Let us not get sensitive with such remarks. Some rich girls from my school also call my Coach, Longchamp, Kipling, Lesportsac tacky and ugly. Who cares what others think? I only need to make myself happy and continue to buy whatever brand I like within my budget.

If tacky refers to the person carrying the bags and not the design I find such statements ridiculous. The price of ones bag does not determine if you are tacky or classy.

My mother is the most classy lady ever and she carries MK (clothes and bags). She loves the design and she is just more comfortable paying MK prices than Hermes or Chanel prices even though she easily could.

Live and let live. I love several high end designers but I also really enjoy MK (and Marc by Marc Jacobs etc.).

Have absolutely enjoyed this thread I am smiling and nodding. MK releases some beautiful bags no one can deny. For most it is all about the label but discriminating shoppers can make their own choices!

I agree with you that price of bag/shoes/clothes etc does not determine if a person is tacky or ugly. I could be wrong but I believe tacky & ugly were referred to bags, not the person who carried those bags. When I heard someone whispering behind me at cashier "too common", I straightaway assumed it was my Longchamp they were referring to. Not even once have I thought people were talking about me lol.

Like you, I also LOVE and wish to buy other higher end designer bags and at the same time still loving all my cheaper or non branded bags.

Maybe I am just a not very sensitive in that aspect or I try not to assumed too much and rather think positively?

Uhg, thanks for digging this post up from last June. We just can't seem to get off of this. Is really getting old. Who cares what others think?? I know what I like and I could care less what anyone thinks about what I wear. And who appointed anyone the 'tacky expert" ?? lol! This whole thread is tacky!
