I could keep going, but I've had enough drama in the forums today. Not saying that this is drama, but I'm feeling a bit drained and beat up in the opinions department today. I can't even discuss my point anymore. I need to sleep and refresh myself.

Ooof, definitely know how you feel. *shrug* that's a forum for ya. Luckily today I get a tPF break.

But I set a goal for myself (Damier Speedy) and I'm determined not to buy anything that's not absolutely necessary in the meantime JUST to keep myself from compulsive spending. With determination I think I will make it.

Damier Speedy is a great goal, and totally worth saving for. When you finally get there, you will love it!

Ditto! I also REALLY want a Damier Speedy, and it's my goal to save up for it...so I've been giving tours and interviews like crazy to earn a little extra cash to put towards it. I even printed out a picture of it and stuck it in my wallet over my ID, so whenever I open my wallet, I'm reminded of it and how I REALLY want to SAVE for it!

I'll be honest and say that a forum like this really feeds in my tendency for compulsive behavior. Prior to this forum I was addicted and spent alot of time on cosmetic forums. Now I don't visit them at all (though I have purchased enough cosmetics in the last 4 years to last the rest of my life). So I have replaced one addiction to another.

I have just bought what I hope will be my last handbag for the rest of this year. If it means blocking myself from this forum in order to accomplish that - I will. The more I come here, the more I find new things to want. Peggy

If it makes you feel better I thought all your comments were spot on...and well stated.

^If they were made in regards to people with serious addictions yes. It is decent advice.

But for a 'just for fun' thread.. I have no idea what that has to do with anything :shrugs:

hey sparkles!!! I have some questions I need answering, everybody's got me influenced into buying mini skinnys and wristlets now!!! and that nylon hobo which I am determined to get. I love nylon...I can't screw it up.

I control my habit by having no money. That always works pretty well. If I can't pay in cash, I don't buy at all. I only have two designer bags, a Trina Turk that is pretty much used exclusively for going out and a coach hamptons tote...getting a coach hamptons hobo...in black nylon (just like my tote, I am so bad).

Plus I don't like signature stuff so that elminates a lot of crap for me.

But I am addicted in the sense that I always say I'm going to save up for a new digital camera, phone (just did that one), or an mp3 player and never do. I buy clothes, shoes, or accessories. *sigh*.

^ Hey missmk!! I didn't know you were on PF!! Yay now I can get revenge on you all for getting me addicted to Sevens muhahah   With so many pretty bags to look at here who knows what could happen

And yeah buying cash is a GREAT way of limiting yourself...once you visually see how much money you're forking over it's like :wtf: With credit cards it's easy to forget how much money you're spending LOL
