How do these Ebay sellers get so many brand new Birkins...

That said, the reputable sellers like MK, LW, CDL, nyfashionexpert, LZ ... these top-notch resellers sell mainly BNIB bags and that's what I like about them. I don't necessarily agree that resellers should charge such high prices but I feel that their solid sources of authentic bags are something that is noteworthy. From the bags that I see them list, it's very obvious they have great friends who are VVIPs with Hermes.

Hmm, it seems that there are different approaches in different countries. Some stores seem to countenance knowingly selling to poeple who may more or less instantly list on Ebay. My experience in the UK is different but the stores in London, selling a lot more stock than my local store in Manchester, may accidentally do so.
The SAs in the UK don't get commission for selling anything and even have to pay the company for their annual allowance of two scarves ( the ladies anyway). The very well known authentic resellers as Mrssparkles says obviously seem to know some very good customers and have that all important mix of new and vintage to sell on. If you see a listing of 12 brand new Birkins in lots of funky colours from the same reseller on Ebay one day what are you going to think? Fake!

Don't worry, I am too much of a lady to accuse anyone, esp when I can't prove anything. But I have suspicions about some of the "reputable" resellers listed above. I noticed one of the resellers years ago, because they were advertising Hermes purses on a web site selling very cheap goods and cheapo purses. I remember thinking that advertising Hermes bags on this particular web site was the equivalent of advertising Hermes bags at a bus stop or gas station. And for some of them the ebay feedback almost looks like a pattern. Hard to explain and I cannot prove anything at all, which is why I haven't named any particular reseller. I do not like to wait and I am willing to pay a premium, so I would buy from a reseller if only I could be absolutely confident that the bag is genuine...

Do you think he/she sells fakes??

I believe i read once that one of the major resellers that we talk about pays people to buy new bags in the stores which is why they price their bags so high- they have to pay for the bag plus whatever fee to the original purchaser and then enough for them to make a profit.

i think it's hilarious that people think they have friends going in to buy them for them. i love my friends but i doubt anyone would just buy a birkin for me to resell even if i wanted them to. it's a business, not someone doing someone else a favor.

I know that the webdesign and possibly even name of one reseller had been stolen by a company selling fakes in China. She has been trying to stop them but to no avail.

I've never heard of resellers paying a friend to go and buy the bags for them... but that would keep them off the radar screen if its a different friend every time. I don't see why a friend wouldn't buy a Birking for someone to resell... of course its business, thats why you would be paying your friend to do so.

Hermes on ebay seem scary to me also - What some of the tPF members have said, its seems there are some VERY good fakes out there. Will Hermes authenticate at their stores?

OMG! Someone stole some of my pictures and my complete item description earlier... What was funny about it was that I had my photos watermarked and there was a miss spelling in the description. If you are going to copy someone else's stuff, at least be smart about it. Their listings were closed after I reported them.:yahoo:

Choose your reseller wisely, is all I can say.

I don't know which reseller you are talking about. But it does sound like that reseller make a poor business decision and advertised in a crass place. Like any business, you choose a wrong advertising medium, it gives you a bad name. I think that reseller was looking for highest internet traffic.

Just because you haven't heard of resellers paying friends to get birkins from the store DOES NOT mean that it is not happening. LOL.

Resellers tend to depend on the same trusted sources for their birkins. Don't you think over time they become friends? Gee.

I know that one of the resellers discussed here personally told me she is blacklisted from Hermes because she is a known reseller. I'm not sure how she gets all her bags. I do know that one of the used bags she has for sale was mine. Interestingly, when we discussed one of my new Birkins, which I purchased from an Hermes boutique, she told me she knew the bag I was talking about and it had been offered to her. The boutique where I bought was in a different state from her, so maybe she is only blacklisted from her local store. I would guess that many resellers of BNIB Birkins have rosters of people who periodically buy bags to sell at a small markup to these resellers.

HA! You beat me to it, Mrs S. I was about to write the EXACT same thing!

that's not the point. my point was you make it sound like these people are having their friends do it out of the goodness of their hearts rather than a business transaction. i'm the first one who said that people have others buy the bags for them.

of course people can become friends with people they work with- that's life.
