house of hello brand - 99.9% hermes copies

To be honest, even if you do keep up with the major brands, you can still overlook some very obvious design piggybacking. That's what I call it when the design has enough elements to make it different, but taken as a whole, it's *clearly* ripped from a luxury brand. I initially loved a bag from Kurt Geiger and bookmarked it because it was somewhere around $300... when I came back to it a couple weeks later, I realized the reason I loved it is because it was 90% exactly like the Fendi Lei that I've had my eye on for a year now.

None of which helps you feel less paranoid, I realize, but at least you're in good company.

I wonder how many people buy this bag never even knowing it's an obvious copy of a Hermes design? I wouldn't - I don't know Hermes bags at all.

I'm almost starting to feel paranoid. I definitely don't want to look like I'm trying to 'fool' and/or 'impress' people by wearing an expensive bag when it's a fake/clone/copycat. Yet in most cases I wouldn't even know since my knowledge of premier bags is very limited.
I lost track of how many, on tpf, say my classic mulberry bayswaters are birkin copycats.
Um, no.
Having been offered birkins, placed bays next to birkins, handled both--they are different.
And I prefer the older bayswater design. So own that.
No one outside this forum, not even hermes sa, raved & frothed over my bag choice.

However, I will offer tip:
if browsing websites, names as "happy happy" & "hello lady" probably will be higher-end designer bag copiers.
Perhaps good, perhaps not.
So, be aware.
But choose freely, then enjoy choices.:flowers:

The 2 are obviously different bags! Unlike those who copied almost 100% and charged a huge premium just because it looks like the real deal, but quality is way too inferior in comparison with floppy end stitches, low quality sealant, leather and hardwares. In the end I think it's even more embarrassing to bring it out being recognise as fakes than to just buy an ordinary bag. To me, it's spending big bucks to embarrass oneself. That's why I say NO to fakes. I will call these 99.9% copies FAKES.

It will be quite sad to eventually find out. I will stop using it if i realised the bag i carry looks identical to a luxury brand. Too embarrassing for me. I can't imagine the need to hide and stress of being labelled as a wannabe!
