Hello,
I've never really felt the need to vent or complain about a particular "shopping experience" in any high end store but what happened to me on Tuesday, left such a bad taste in my mouth that I may just stick to online shopping from now on. While Chanel wasn't the only bad experience I had that day, I will start with this one.
This past Tuesday was a Sunny beaituful day in Long Island. After running errands and lunch, my girlfriend and I opted to go to Americana Manhasset since she's been itching to get her first Chanel bag as she has always been an avid LV lover. I've been looking for a new bag to love myself. We get to the store to wait on a line for over 30 minutes to enter the store. I've never seen the parking lot so empty at this mall as it was on that day but there was still need for lines in front of every store you want to enter. We finally enter the store, get our temps checked as well as squirted with antibacterial to be introduced to a sales associate. What are you looking for today ladies? We wanted to look around and my friend has some questions. Sure what question did you have she asks. My friend proceeds to tell her that she wanted to see the Chanel Medium Flap over the Jumbo and the difference in leather. Sales Associate quickly says, we have no classic mediums to show you sorry. Anything else? At that point I said, yes there is something else. Can you show her the difference in caviar vs lambskin. Even though you don't have any medium, Im sure you have a few jumbos in that closet. ( pointed to the closet in which I've seen them pull flaps out numerous times over the years and i've purchased with my old sales associate)
The saleswoman, walks over to the counter where flaps are kept with the only look on her face. No point in getting into Dior ( sized up and down from the moment we walked in) Prada or LV at this time ( i'm still waiting for LV to call us back to see when we can go in their store as their wait list is sooo long) because it was all the same experience. If you aren't walking in knowing exactly what you want, you are not wanted in the store. Pretty horrible feeling to have when you have 2 people in it that really were looking forward to leaving with a purchase.
I know Covid is real but these stores must be losing money and clientelle. Maybe its just me. Thanks for hearing my vent.
