Hooray for the Halzan...

Hi everyone!
I'm considering buying a Halzan in 25 or 31. Still not sure of the size I want.
But can someone help me with the leather... which leather is best for this bag? Clemence or Togo?
I live in the UK and it's always raining so need it to be durable for an everyday bag. Thanks in advance for your replies

Clemence. I don’t believe the Halzan is offered in togo. 31 = clemence, barenia faubourg, barenia(?), 25 = celemence, possibly evercolor per above info, mini = swift, barenia

please correct me if anyone has other info, this is just what I have seen.

In my experience, clemence ages very well but does have a tendency to sag so I would recommend an insert for the Halzan to keep the bottom from drooping/losing shape.

I don't mind the sag and thanks I'll definitely get an organiser/insert for the bag. I have just been going through the other posts in this thread and admiring everyone's bags. Hopefully I can get one soon!

I have several clemence bags and have never had water spots on any of them. I live in a fairly wet/tropical climate and have had my bags endure light rain, but if there is a heavy downpour I usually put my bag under my raincoat. Hope this helps you feel at ease!

I just carried my clemence Evelyne TPM through the rain a couple of days ago, let the bag drip dry inside. I don’t see any signs of water marks

If you are really worried about rain, get it in barenia. Water does not leave any marks on barenia. I have a halzan 31 in both clemence and barenia. The one in clemence is more slouchy but made of pretty tough leather. It does not scratch or scuff easily. On the other hand, my barenia halzan has more structure and can be used in the rain. But barenia is prone to scratches and scuffs. Keep in mind I am referring to the smooth barenia, as opposed to barenia faubourg which has a pebbled texture.

If anyone knows the retail price of the US size 25 I'd appreciate knowing, and if it appears on the website I'd love to know if you see it. I was *this close* to buying the mini last year in rose poupre and almost went for the 31 instead. I thought they were going to discontinue this model but I am so glad I waited. I hope it comes in a 25 swift. If you have any US info on it please let me know!

you can almost always find a 20% off coupon for their store if you google. I personally dislike senamom, I ordered a picotin 18 insert from them and they sent an insert for the 22. They re-sent the correct size (for free) but I find their felt to be super stiff and way more structured than samorga’s. My picotin looked terrible with such a stiff insert, so I repurchased from samorga and was much happier with their product. Have stuck to them ever since.
