Hooray for the Halzan...

My darling husband has allowed me to purchase one bag and i think I've fallen for the Halzan big time! My question is, would you say this is a classic bag? I really don't want to spend all that money in a bag which may go out of fashion in a few years and I would like to eventually pass it down to my daughter (that's my reasoning for spending this much on a bag). I would love a Birkin but let's face it, that's never going to happen! I don't have a relationship with any SAs and preloved is more expensive than brand new. But back onto the Halzan, I like the 31 because I'll be able to get more used out of it and I love all the different ways it can be worn. So I know i want a 31 but I really can't decide on the colour and would really appreciate some help. The Hermes website is only showing the classic H colours but I like the idea of a bold but versatile everyday colour (does one exist?). I've not seen it irl but Black seems a little flat and I'm not keen on the browns. I have a trifold bearn in gold and a jige in Blue Jean so would like to avoid those colours. Would really appreciate your advice/opinions. Thank you.

My recommendation is Bleu Nuit or Prune. Those colors are currently around so should be easier to get. Not as plain as black but they’re dark so pretty easy to maintain & very useful versatile colors. Etoupe & Etain are also good pick as classic colors. Rouge Grenat was also good color as dark red but it’s rested now. Most 31 I’ve seen coming out are classic kind of colors.

Thank you! Hoping to pop into H next week to check out what colours they have. So excited.

I think the Halzan is a great bag (and I might own one if the strap was just a little bit longer), but I do not see it as a classic Hermes bag. Honestly, the Bolide, Victoria and Evelyne are all more classic than the Halzan. It’s impossible to tell at this point how much staying power it will have or for how long H will produce it. So, get one if you love it, but if your main goal is to have a “classic” H bag to pass down to your daughter, you might want to look into a different model. JMHO.
