I have had both classics & bs (love love top handle bags), from my experience, the DE can get away using classic because you may put it down on the floor or dirty place or if your hands are dirty won't show, but for MONO classics oh better to have the strap to keep it clean, well, if you don't mind, then doesn't matter, classics definitely prettier especially mono.

When I use my classic mono gosh, I always keep white tissues with me to wrap the handles if my hands are dirty, it needs extra care. :P

on the other hand, I recently went to store buy a speedy DE again and decided to buy the DE b, because intend to use it for traveling if need to, you will see lots of classics on the second hand market if to buy but won't see good bs especially DE for good price or they could be very used, I'd rather pay extra to buy new DE.

My first bag was Speedy B in DE 30. As beautiful as it is, I think the size makes it stick out as xbody and even shoulder carry at times.. So later I got the 25 in DE Speedy B to carry xbody/shoulder..over the years (short 4 years compared to some...) as the LV collection grows and I find other bags better for shoulder/xbody. I use to own the 25 in classic mono and I have to say there is a special feminine classic feel to that bag... Will I buy another 25 in speedy b or classic - still not sure because for that size all carrying options just work well. For the 30, I think it depends, if I was to buy for travelling or I commute to work, then definitely Speedy B.. But if it was an occasional bag and I mostly drive, then classic is nice. When I first brought the Speedy B 30, it was always with strap, now it's more handheld as I think it just looks nicer.. When we are out on day trip or travelling it's back to with strap. Sorry for the long post.. It really comes down to what type of bags you already have, how you intended to use and what look appeals to you.

I think it looks so cute without the B strap but let’s be honest. Most days you need hands free whether at the mall, grocery store, returning a text - it’s just so freaking easy to throw your Speedy crossbody if you need it - especially for traveling.

Look wise, I love the classic, convenience wise the b, have both classics and bs, honestly don't make big difference to me because, I rarely use them anyway, have many other prettier and practical bags. Just like to have the speedys even I rarely use them.

I liked the classic better first, price might have influenced that. Now I prefer the look of the bandouliere on 25&30, 25 crossbody and 30 shoulder. I couldn’t do the top handle only option I felt ridiculous carrying my bag like that all of the time
