HOF repertoire select pave mounting

I'm glad someone here doesn't think it looks like a cocktail ring! I'm going for a setting that will make my 1.25 diamond look bigger and brighter (a little more bling-like) and also an updated look. My setting now with the tapered baggettes on each side which are quite traditional and classic. Many others in our area are doing the halo thing and I love it.

I don't know how to do the picture from the magazine. But it is not a hand shot. It is an ad with several other HOF rings. Also, it is not my exact one. Its a repertoire but with the split shank. We're expecting severe thunderstorms and its beginning to get quite dark. So I think I will do the 50 min. trip each way to the jeweler tomorrow. Can't get it out of my head though!

OMG laurayuki - I'm seriously honored to hear from you as I love your taste and style. I would have PMed for your opinion but did not want to bother you. What is your feeling that the halo is not flush next to the centerstone like risingsun's HOF significance style? The repertoire has a very thin space of air between halo and stone. Do you like that or do you think I'm better off with the other style? Thanks a ton for your opinion! Others I'd love to hear from if they see this are bextasy, beljwl, Swanky, sbelle, sjunky, graceful1, and more. Come out wherever you are!!!!

I'm 100% going to jeweler tomorrow. I really may pull the trigger! He is also holding the matching wedding band but I will not be getting it at this time. I just want to see what it looks like together with the e-ring setting. I'm thrilled that laurayuki likes this ring - LOL! It sounds silly but I love all of her choices and outfits so it gives me a positive feeling.

I lied! I got cold feet! But I have not stopped thinking ALL day about this setting. So I plan on going tomorrow but I will not say 100% again. I have one small concern. With the Hearts on Fire line, what happens if you lose a stone? Can they easily match one up so it won't look obviously different from the others? There are only 2 stores within an hour drive that carry this line. Many stores I called today say they're phasing it out which concerns me a little.

hokaplan: the reason for the phasing out could be because of the companies structure as well. if a retail store phases a line out its usually because of poor customer service.

The SA from store phasing HOF out says that they are expected to carry a lot more inventory and they don't want to pay for it. Also, there hasn't been a lot of interest recently in the designer brands. At least in that particular location.

I guess that is the case with a lot of name brands. From what I've been told, Van Cleef is no longer sold at Bernie Robbins. They wanted them to carry their watches and real expensive stuff. Bernie Robbins didn't want all that and they couldn't work out an agreement. So now it is extremely difficult to purchase Van Cleef in our state.

I am going today! I really think I will make the switch. I researched more yesterday and found out that the select repertoire has only been out for less than a year. Two well-known jewelers gave me a ton of positive feedback about this setting (by phone) but I asked about many HOF settings. They had a lot of high praise for select repertoire. Although they did think it would be better to get in platinum than white gold. But I'm doing white gold. This is my 3rd time in 18 years that I'm changing the setting and if I do it again in 5 years I really don't think I need platinum. Wish me luck!!
