It's completely personal preference, but I'm not fond of the halo being so separated from the stone. Almost like the stone is too small for the setting, kwim? I do know some people like it because it showcases the stone more. It is a beautiful ring!

I agree, I think if you are going to upgrade, it would be better looking to have the micropave setting rather than have bigger stones surrounding the center stone, it just looks more of a cocktail ring rather than an e-ring

I think bigger stones on a halo looks more like a cocktail ring, whereas a micro-halo looks more like an E-ring. The ring is gorgeous, though!

I'm so confused!!!
skyqueen and bhurry - Are you saying the halo around a 1.25 stone looks like a cocktail ring? I don't want it to look like a cocktail ring. Is the HOF repertoire setting micropave? Please advise!

It looks like the halo is described as pave but not micropave. I love this HOF setting but I'm beginning to have doubts. I don't think it looks any more/less like a cocktail ring than risingsun's HOF setting. But maybe hers is micropave. I wish it weren't a holiday weekend and more people were around to chime in. Although I will be at the beach for the next two days. Maybe when I return, there will be more posts about my dilemma!

I'm with Monica on this. I quite agree the halo stones are too large and distract from the centre stone. I also find that the setting isn't that refined, and I don't care for the space between the halo and the centre stone.

Hokapla, to be completely honest I like Risingsun's model better because of the following reasons:
- in her design the halo is more refined
- in this design the halo stones seems to be too large for the center stone
- I like the pave setting more in Risingsun's design

I like the ring you have selected but in my opinion it's not refined enough.
Good luck and have fun selecting your new ring. Have you thought about the possibility to upgrade via a regular jeweler that sells estate rings for example? You will get so much more diamond for your dollars compared to Tiffany's.

I hope I don't sound to harsh but you wanted an honest opinion and I wanted to be honest as you are such a nice person!!

Please ignore my post if this ring sings to you and if you are dreaming about it!!

I like the gallery of the repertoire better, Hoka. Cleaner, less busy. Both gorgeous, though.

I understand what the others here are saying about the larger stones in the halo, but I'm not sure that I agree. I wonder if a center stone that's large like yours will look the same proportion-wise? It'd be nice if we knew the size of the center stone in the pic.

Bigger rings! Just a little bigger like slightly under or at 2 carat. I love the Tiffany Legacy but budget doesn't allow for a 2 carat one. While the Tiffany Embrace is more affordable, it is a little smaller than what I already have. Do you know how to post 2 pictures side by side? Perhaps if someone put the HOF repertoire next to the HOF significance - I might get some more imput. Thanks!

I posted my ring for you. It is the Significance. I think you will need to try them both on to see which one suits you best. They are both gorgeous rings, IMO. I didn't want an airline in my ring, so the choice was pretty easy for me. I don't know how to post the two rings next to each other. I'm not that clever with photoshopping. Have fun choosing your ring and be sure to tell us what you have decided;)

Bump!

Maybe some more people are around and can look at pictures of the HOF setting posted above. I think a lot of people are not on TPF due to the magnificent weather holiday weekend in much of the country!

I see what others have said about the surrounding stones being a little large. I think they are pave but not micropave. I still love this setting!

Perhaps because mine is smaller, it'll look less like a cocktail ring? I can't decide what to do. It is a lot of money to be unsure. Wondering if I should go back to the Tiffany route.

What kind of look are you going for? I have tried on the Repertoire and do not think it looks like a cocktail ring at all. It is very delicate. I still think it is a question of which ring looks best on you, not which ring looks best in general. They are both halos, but give a very difference appearance.
