I'm guilty of over-using booties. They are way more comfortable to me than sandals. I can wear short comfy socks and actually run around after my kids.

'My heart is broken': Hilary Duff on the death of her beloved pooch Lola

Hilary Duff's beloved dog Lola has passed away.
The 25-year-old singer tweeted on Tuesday she is 'heartbroken' over the death of her chihuahua.
'RIP my beautiful Lola girl ❤ my heart is broken Say a prayer for my little angel,' wrote the pop star.

Hilary also thanked her fans for their support in an earlier tweet:
'Guys!Thank you for all your well wishes for my beautiful Lola��it really means so much when you a hurting to know so many people care. ❤U all'.
It's not yet clear how Lola died, but the tiny pup had suffered from numerous health problems over the years, and had undergone brain surgery in 2012.
The pop star's fellow Disney alum Ashley Tisdale tweeted her condolences, telling Hilary she was 'thinking of you and Lola, I'm so sorry.'

Hilary is a known animal lover, and has been a vocal supporter of animal rights since she was still a tween star on Lizzie McGuire.
'Animals should not be killed or used in any way which causes harm,' she told Pet Press in 2003.
'Animals breathe and eat just like humans. I want people to know that it’s not geeky or dumb to love animals, and that we should help them in any way we can.'

Hilary and her retired NHL player husband Mike Comrie welcomed their first child Luca in March 2012.
She recently opened up about what a difference having a child has made to her life.
'Motherhood has been a huge life adjustment. It's been the most wonderful time of my life - but also the most tiring,' she said.
'Right now I'm making some new music and reading scripts but it's tough to commit. Now that I'm a mom, whatever I work on has to be worth it.'
