Like any bride, Hilary Duff had plenty of reasons to smile on her wedding day – until one of her teeth fell out.

"I was sitting on the bed with my mom and my sister, and they're like, 'You're an idiot. You did not. Come on,' " Duff, 23, says in an interview airing Monday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The actress-singer, who tied the knot with longtime hockey player beau Mike Comrie, 30, in August, says her dental dilemma happened at about 11 a.m. on her wedding day, just three hours before she needed to start getting ready.

"I burst into tears," she says. "Then I started laughing at myself, and then I really burst into tears."

So who saved her big day? Her wedding planner, whose sister's husband's best friend is a dentist in Montecito, Calif.

Gap tooth-grin evasion aside, her romantic, candlelit ceremony went off without a hitch.

"The actual wedding was perfect," she says. "Thank God I didn't swallow [my tooth]. Not good for a bride on her wedding day."

This story just freaked me out. I knew she had some dental work done, but I didn't know her teeth could just fall out like that. Scary! I would have been freaked out.

THAT is what bad dreams are made of for me! LOL!
That legitimizes her veneers at least - she obviously has dental issues. It's not like other celebs who justify nose jobs on "deviated septums" lol!

I have a friends who got veneers because one of her front teeth had deadened and needed to be pulled. So they made her a tooth and added veneers to match. Her tooth falls out once in a while if she eats something really hard or isn't careful.

That's why I said it legitimizes why Hil got them, she obviously had some dental issues.
Teeth don't just fall out.

When veneers are placed on teeth, they remove just a few millimeters of the enamel on the tooth. Hence, the veneers themselves are very thin and made of porcelain. It doesn't take much force to have them come off. If they do, u can just recement them if they're in one piece. The most important thing is to avoid eating hard foods. Veneers are great but they're not strong like a crown.

Hilary Duff flaunts her legs in a metallic miniskirt while arriving for an audition on Friday (October 22) in Hollywood.

The 23-year-old singer and actress, who’s now a New York Times best-selling author, recently wrapped up a cross-country book signing tour for her first novel, Elixir.

Hil says her international fans will also get the chance to read her book.

“I have been getting a lot of requests for elixir in other countries! they are making them in many other languages should be ready soon!!!” she wrote on her Twitter page.

^^ What did you think of it?

Sorry, got lost in the PurseSecrets thread so forgot to answer.

I´m not going to include any spoilers or book description, only my opinions on the matter.

The book is targeted for young adults so I felt a tad too old reading it :p

I felt like the author was taking short cuts with the story line and I was left wanting more depth in character development as I found Sage (the male lead) rather one dimensional.
Also the characters stumble upon things too easily, e.g. they try to find someone, go to a mall, run around for a while and, hey presto, there she is! I need more twists and turns!

It´s an easy and entertaining read though, obviously the first of a series as nothing is completed in this book. But it´s an okay start. Surprisingly good I must add, considering the author is a young actress.
