Hmmmmm.... somehow I think the "metal lid cap" is missing from my Cherry Blossom papillon!:blink: :graucho: :laugh: The metal is flaring gold too!!!

I think this person means the little round hardware that joins the handle to the bag, etc. I think there is some confusion on their part about WTH we are talking about!

The baby Papillon that comes with mommy Papillon 30 does not have a date code.

I have a monogram canvas papillon (the one that came with the mini) and it does not have a serial code. I remember because I bought it at LV in san francisco, and the SA told me that some of this style do not have it. it doesn't have the serial number stamp either.

All papillons I've dealt with, even the papillons with the dyed, french co-type leather have date codes. They're VERY hard to find, and be careful, because I've heard horror stories where women RIP their bags trying to find it. The date code is located on the seam (a photo was posted earlier) behind the zipper, inside the bag. You may need a flashlight - it's very hard to find.
