Hi Docride! I have an iris lindy in clemence, and I just found a deep scratch on the front panel/side panel of the bag. Is there any way I can fix it? Thank u in advance!

Looks like a regular surface scratch it's going to stay it will not be repaired. When the bag is spa-ed and polished it may look less noticable but it will remain none the less.

www.shoetreemarketplace.com go here and pick out some tarrago cream polish in colors which look close you may need a few colors to mix to make a perfect match if you have major color loss you'll want the Tarrago color kits which has polish and dye in it about $9

Thanks, Docride. The Kelly has arrived but the products ordered from Shoe Tree haven't arrived. They are due next Monday.

In the meantime, I have a question. The ring on the front of the bag that holds the key is loose. It turns in it's socket. Having never had an Hermes bag, I don't know if this is normal or something that needs fixing. What say you?

Can I treat an all vachetta bag without making it all shiney? Like waterproof it but keep it as dull as possible?

Hello, Are you writing about the turn lock hardware which is located on the front panel mid upper portion;it is a rectangle shaped plate with a sticking out rouned dowel shaped bar atop of which is an eye or open donut shaped end (this is where the lock can be hung when the bag is locked) ?
If this ^^^^ is what you are asking about then , yes it is supposed to turn both clockwise and counter clockwise,so no worries.
;)

Yes, that's what I'm asking about. God bless you for putting up with a newbie :smile1: I think mine is too loose, it not only turns, but wiggles in the socket on the plate. As long as it doesn't fall out I'm okay with it! It isn't fixable externally since the back side is covered with the leather lining.

I will be back once my products arrive to ask your help with the steps needed to revive this gorgeous Kelly. Thanks for all your help, Doc.

None of what you are worried about seems worth worry about ;) So you might want to clean and condition this bag is that right? use some lexio PH leather wipes to clean and condition in one step, next finish with some conditioning cream neutral polish I liek Tarrago neutral for you particular project. You can find both items here

Thanks Doc! Spot on!

Is there a european equivalent? I'm based in the UK. I can access Saphir products from France... if this is of any help...

It's OK if there is some play (or wiggles) in the turn lock it should be OK unless really loose.if it did come out it could be fixed by Hermes but becasue we are trying to not have that happen it's best not to hang the lock or any thing heavy from it.

Right, so in the UK you can choose a light cleaner/conditioner from Woly (UK) or Saphir(FR) and a Creamy neutral polish from Saphir (FR) or Woly (UK) .

Thanks Doc! Just a couple more questions...

For the light cleaner, could i use:
Cleaning and regenrating soap: http://www.valmour.com/cleaning-products/cleaning-regenerating-soap-avel,196 - this I have.

or Woly leather balm? http://www.shoestringuk.co.uk/d/woly_leather_balm_150ml_1447.php - need to buy this

Could I use this as the polish: Leather Renovator Saphir Medaille D'or
(http://www.valmour.com/cleaning-products/leather-renovator-saphir-medaille-dor,522) i have this too.

Thanks again for your help!

^^^Answered above in red. Good luck!

Yes you can have a matte to matte satin sort of finish. Are you trying to keep the leather perfectly light? If so that maybe a problem. But what exactly are we talking about here?

I don't have one yet, but I'm stalking an all vachetta alma. I like the color of the treated ones I see here, but I'm not in love with the waxy/shiny finish. So, while I don't mind the color change, and love the idea of treating it to avoid water damage, I'm wondering if there is a way to do that without high-shine.

Hi Dear Docride,

I recently got a Constance and Silk-In Wallet in Epsom. I haven't really started using them at all, but noticed there are marks on both of them that are "shiny..." I think on the Constance Wallet it is from opening and closing the H buckle, and on the Silk-In because it rubbed up against hardware from another wallet.

My question is is there any way to get the "shiny" spot out of the epsom? I tried to take a photo of it, but it is hard to see unless it is from the side and the light reflects off of it.

Thanks for any advice! :flowers:
