So would you suggest that i continue this discussion in about one year on how to go about applying conditioner etc? :)

Thanks Doc

When the bag starts looking like it needs a bit of something to bring up her shine then come on back..that might be in a few months that might be in 6 months to a year. It all depends on how much action your bag is getting from use. OK? :smile1:

High Gylcerine based cleansers are nicer than harsh lye based ones..only use on very very diry bags one the leathers that can tollerate this is Togo. I like Lexol PH liquid..do not over do it just get a really nice sudsy soft cloth and do circular (small ones) movements do not press hard or get the bag saturated with water...lightly lift off the suds..and buff when dry... Make sure you have removed any heavy dirt /sand before hard or your end up scratching the bag..yep even TOGO can scratch...

Hello, I am sorry but the Mods have asked me to keep this thread for Hermes leathers questiond only, you might want to try asking on the YSL subsection? Suede is isn't very easy to clean,i don't know what sort of blue line mark you have pen or what...Sorry I wasn't much help. Your dry cleaner might be able to handle this why not ask them?

Hi Doc, thanks for your help so far.

Any ideas on how I should mend the corners of indigo box kelly? I have attached some pics to give you an idea of how scuffed the corners are.
Also for a general all-over clean, do I just use Mcguaire's and then blackrocks?
Thanks lots!!

I would touch up those corners with some matching dye first try Tarrago color dye, then condition the areas you haven't touched up with dye with blackrocks leather n rich. Then use some matching Tarrago polish and buff out.

Or if you don't want to use dye just use the blackrocks and follow with a good matching polish and buff out.
I would skip the maguires wipes unless you don't want to use a matching colored or neutral polish as your last step.

OK?

PLEASE HELP!!!

I just got a Celine Box bag ( the girls in that thread said the leather is similar to hermes box) and somehow got a 1/4" pen mark on the front while at the PO yesterday...i immeditately tried to remedy the mark, but while it no longer resembles a pen mark, it's a discolored blob! i used cadillac leather conditioner. i have melatonian as well (clear polish) and read about white erasers or magic clean erasers. i tried a mars eraser, it didn't really do anything. im scared to try the mr. clean one or alcohol, as some other people have recomended for pen removal as im scared it's going to take the color off.

right now it looks like a brownish mark on my lil khaki bag....please help. im terrible heartbroken over this. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO ON THIS THREAD!!!

Hi, I'm going to answer this although I am asked by the Mods to keep this thread to Hermes leather questions only. This is after all Box Calf...First off, if you have a pen mark is it ball point or felt tip or sharpie... Second, never put a conditioner on top of a mark it tends to drive the ink into the leather rather than lift it off... a soft pink eraser immediately might have solved the problem...now though you have a number of other chemicals acting on the first problem which is the ink. Try the eraser even though it's late to try...if you have a mess still you may need to use an ink killer and then spot re-dye afterwards as these do tend to lift off color as well as ink.
Let me know how the eraser works. and come on back...
