Thank you! I had a look and it is really beautiful. These pleated scarfs are a lot more expensive though, does any one know if this is somehow justified? Pressing pleats into the scarf does not seem to be so complicated or is it?
H used to produce 90 plisse as part of its regular offerings (up to 2012-2013) and those were priced the same as flat 90 carres. They stopped doing it since then - as apparently it is more expensive to add pleating, and re-introduced plisse format for cashmere and silk 140s at significantly inflated prices. While those are beautiful, one has to be aware of the maintenance involved (hard to find a dry cleaner who is able to handle those, the pleating gets damaged from inadequate storage or use with rings, etc).
Having said that, you can find plenty of 90 plisses at the bargain prices ($100-$200) at second hand resellers - they usually have a lower resale value than flat carres. I would suggest trying the format first with a small $ spend and then if one likes it, it is worth investing $1k-$2k in a pleated shawl.

About damage due to use
At one time, it was the fashion to take a plisse maybe bow tie it it then pouf it out, extending the pleats
IMO, this damages the pleats, they can stay permanently poofed out in patches on the scarf, so the silk is distended in one place but not everywhere
When buying a used plisse, sellers often show the distended scarf to show the design. I always want to see a photo of the relaxed scarf , any pooches are immediately visible.

I like plissé carrés very much, but you're so right - they need quite some extra care. French Hermès stores offer the "service après-vente", i.e. your carré gets dry cleaned and afterwards is is going to be replisséd. It comes back like new after 6-8 weeks in a nice round orange box and this refreshing treatment costs about € 85. For me this service is really worth its money.

Agree. The pleating oftentimes is damaged from the scarf being stored in the box - when not handled and rolled properly. I had seen some unworn plisse scarves which had their pleating damaged from the scarf being stuffed in the box without being properly rolled. It pains me every time I see it! but the added benefit is that stains or imperfections aren’t that noticeable on the scarf due to pleating.

I think it’s also the size that makes it more expensive than a 90. They’re super beautiful pleated but seem a bit too high maintenance for me. I would get the pleats dirty and then not be able to wash it. Not for me right now while there is serious spillage and sticky finger danger with two toddlers! I would very happily cheer you on if you decide to get one!!

Oh indeed, with two toddlers a pleated scarf would be at perpetual risk! My youngest is 8 so not as potentially dangerous to my scarf, but I would probably just get it dirty myself really quick. As gorgeous as it is, I do not think I am ready for an investment like that ;-)

I finally got around to taking some photos of my Tulipomanie last week for a certain piece of writing that I do. Here is one of the collages with a few knots against different coloured cashmere jumpers (a trick learned from this forum):

I’m in love already!
Gorgeous-- and fabulous ties to emulate! Beautiful choice @HermesHope -- I am so delighted with mine. I hope to read a write up on your blog!
I can't believe this Sangles is the -same one- they photographed for the website. Looks nothing alike, and it's so much better in your photo!
Thank you @yuzulife -- it is a charming piece for spring and summer!
Tulipomanie cw 02 arrived

I love esp. the purple tulips ... and now I‘m done with multiples. My absolutely favourite is my yellow one.
Stunning-- they all look fantastic on you (of course I am partial to this one :winkiss: ). The corner you chose tohighlight on this cw is my favorite... What fun you will have playing your silky fields of tulips @Croisette7!!!!

Well, it's been a while!
I think I skipped all of the 2022 scarves (a number of factors--new baby, buying a house, not being absolutely in love with any of the designs and seeking out past season grails instead), but I finally broke for Tulipomanie.
Although I was attracted to the bright red and blue, after trying them both in store they seemed difficult to style with my existing wardrobe and I feared I'd default to always pairing them with white.
When cw 16 popped up on the site, I decided to take the plunge! It might seem a bit "meh" compared to its brighter sisters, but it's absolutely perfect for me. I've been looking for an orange scarf, but H orange is often hard for me to pull off. This orange is subtle enough to be wearable, and, as you can see from the quick modeling shots, it can be folded in such a way that the orange disappears entirely!
Worn with a rather wrinkled stark white tee to show that the blanc background has a just the tiniest hint of creaminess/warmth. Looking forward to pairing this with grey, black, yellow, orange, and brown!

Welcome back and congratulations on all the newness in your life keeping you busy!

The scarf is beautiful and quietly elegant. I especially love how you’ve tied it in the last photo.
