Only H can answer that question. But probably so a B can be worn with a strap/crossbody, without compromising or tempering with the construction of the bag? I don’t think it’s appealing at all and looks very very strange!

At first glance I thought it was a new bag charm! After all, we've had the shopping bag and the Kelly bag charms so a harness Birkin charm would not have surprised me

You're right on the money on the harness being a strap for the Birkin! It'll be in Swift leather and available for sizes 25, 30, and 35.


Pocket for Birkin, a SLG measuring 21cm x 17 cm that will come in either Swift or Togo. There's also a printed Swift version in a Jan Bajtlik design.

Yes, it’s a harness for B’s that won’t compromise the shape/weight distribution of the bag. I can finally exhale as I’ve known about the harness for a few months now but had to keep mum about it. Having the harness for a hands-free B was a deal breaker for me in deciding to get a B (hopefully) at end of year.
