Oh, I’m afraid I’ve been a little too vague - I lost all interest in scarves (and in life in general) when my stepson died in March, so it’s not so much a curation journey as it’s been a grief journey. Coming across a couple of grails has helped me to cope and bring me back to the land of the living. Animapolis made me smile the other day in the boutique so I knew it was one I need in my collection. Just have to wait a bit - finances are tighter than usual. (Who knew death was more expensive than living?) Plus we got a puppy. Luckily, he shows no interest in H scarves... So far.
Hugs, love and prayers for you, Joannadyne. I am so sorry for your loss. I am thankful to hear that you have a puppy! Dogs are bundles of JOY!!!
(Animopolis is a very happy scarf. The artist's dog is featured numerous times on the scarf which makes it extra sweet. I know you will love this one!)

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss Joannadyne. I can understand the lack of interest as scarves for me too are celebration type item. I, too, thought I didn't need another busy scarf, but an Animapolis will make its way to me as well sometime soon (you know...like next time I get paid in a couple of weeks and the dust settles from my bills....)

It gorgeous on you scarf1!
Thank you!

Did any of you notice a different smell of new silk scarves?
I bought a Sieste today (at the store) and it smells bad, very chemically, the way I would expect a cheap knock off to smell.
I might have to air it out a while or even wash it before wearing it...

Some of my cashmere/silk GMs have had a strong, artificial smell in the past. I figured it was the dye. The smell did go away with wear.

Thank you so much, everyone. It’s been helpful to lurk here periodically, and even if I didn’t comment at the time, I’ve appreciated seeing everyone’s posts. You all have unknowingly helped me come out of the shell shock. What we’ve been going through cannot be believed - three suicides in three months! and if that wasn’t enough, the man who raped a family member got off scot free at trial. There’s more, but honestly, Ive been rather numb. Needless to say, we are feeling rather Job-like. I can’t talk about a lot of this stuff in social media for fear that it’ll hurt the other people involved. But grief is miserable work. I can’t take it anymore. I need to be my cheerful self again, and if scarves are what’ll help me get there, then so be it. To that end, I have a moussie on its way to me, hopefully tomorrow. The pup has been a huge help, too. We got him as an emotional support dog for my DS after my stepson died. DS has had problems that ramped up after his brother’s death. DH and I are so grateful for the dog, he’s been good for our family.
Here he is:

Sorry to derail the thread. Back to topic, I went to H to see if they had anything new but no, nothing from AW yet. So I tried on two cws of Sieste... and two of Animapolis. Oh dear, those photos are in my other phone. I’ll post them soon... BRB!

(Also, apologies for being redundant to my IG scarf friends. Most of my sorry tale
is a rehash.)
Ok, back to SS season. Here’s my second choice for Animapolis:

I love it but it didn’t make me smile as much as cw 01. (Please excuse the I’m-about-to-make-a-proclamation face)

Here are two Siestes (again with the proclamations in the first pic, lol)

I love the second one more but will give up on them for now. Not enough leaves on that money tree! Plus I never was able to try on pautinka’s gorgeous cw, which was one that intrigued me.

Oh noooo!!! My heart breaks for you. You've been through so much hardship this year and yet have been such a positive and gracious (though less frequent) a member of this community that I would never have guessed. I hope that you find your sunshine. If Animapolis brought you rays of joy and put a smile on your face, that's priceless. Thank you for sharing.

This was my favorite CW of Animapolis. That bright yellow hem especially is so cheerful! I bought this CW and framed it. It now hangs in my hallway and makes me smile every time I pass by it :) Looks great on you!

My scarf of the day is Pivoines!
To be honest while I think this is the most achingly beautiful scarf, I bought it months ago and this is the first time I wear it. It's a PITA to tie in a way that displays my favorite parts of the scarf, i.e. those pencil drawings of that fantasy city. I keep ending up with the flowers on display. Those are nice and everything but not that special IMO.
Doesn't help that the back of the scarf is completely white.
Plus I have general problems with 90 squares... always feel that my style is too casual to pull them off without looking like I'm trying to play dress up.

I think it looks great on you this way. Have you tried doing a bias fold, then knotting it at your nape? That may bring the fantasy city to the front. :flowers: Thank you for the 'reminder' that this scarf has only one side. One must love the main cw then!

The second one! It could be the lighting, or your hair colour mirroring the colour of the tree trunks, or that pretty yellow against your lavander top, I have to say I like that scarf on you.

Well it looks very nice on you but I concur, in the end I din't go for this beautiful design even though laid flat it's very 'me'.
