I'm in the "big fan of white hems" camp because the crisp contrast often looks really great on me and I like that breath of cool air in a design. But the downside of white hems is that they are the fastest to get dingy. Simply wearing them with a dark sweater will transfer fuzz and make them look a little shabby. Untying the scarf after getting home can leave a smudge of travel grime on the tails. It's pretty sensitive.I don’t mind white contrast hem, I think it can give a fresh look to a scarf. But several of you feel otherwise. Just curious,
Why not a fan of white contrast hems?
Every angle is amazing! Finally had some time to play with animapolis. My favorite corners are the yellow road ones and I love the dinosaur. Told you it would look gorgeous on you! Just gorgeous. And I had a request for a post with bright blue, can’t find that request, sorry, lighting not great but here its, it’s tied at top two corners for a long look, and less silk on my neck in my overheated office. You all look wonderful in your posts, this season truly has something for everyone!!!Finally had some time to play with animapolis. Oh yes, cw01 Sieste! More than the pretty cws, I'm eager to see if I can love the plume silk. I enjoy the heavy winter silk, but I remember trying out a 140cm spring silk two years ago and found it too light (someone said parachute silk?).
You look amazing, @Joannadyne! I've been having a similar debate--the blue is really stunning, but not crazy about the red hem. Also can't decide if that's a deal breaker or not.So we all knew this was going to be a TERRIBLE season ... for our wallets! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
My H finally got some SS scarves in so I went to check it out this afternoon. I wound up very very surprised. I had the opposite problem as BBC just above this post - I fell in love with a scarf I had NO desire for when I first saw it flat. It’s one that many of you have oohed and ahhhed over and while I admired it on others, I did not like it for myself.
Yes, dear reader, it’s Animapolis! I thought it was way too busy and the reptiles were a major turn off - plus Godzilla takes up so much real estate. I heard my wallet heave a huge sigh of relief.
Well, I couldn’t resist trying it on in the store. Why not? I’d just be confirming that it’s not one for me. Well, whoa Nelly!!! It was a shock, a revelation!

However, this cw wasn’t as nice on me as the first one:

I also saw the Duels design (can’t remember the whole name). This was just a “meh” on me, and it’s not just because the lighting is so yellow in the store:

But omg Sieste!!! The dark blue is divine, but I have one dilemma. I’m not crazy about the red contrast hem. This isn’t the best photo - it looks 100% better in real life:

I’ve always thought that I’d have to love every aspect of a scarf for me to buy full price - my heart better be weeping for joy! So in the past, I passed on a few designs because I didn’t love the hem color. Now I regret it! Example: that pastel cw of Hippopolis. It had a light yellow hem that I just didn’t care for. Now I’d kill to find that scarf! Another example: the giant Terres Precieuses in purple from a couple of years ago. I passed because of the yellow hem, even though I loved everything else about it. So here I am, again dithering over whether I’d be happy with a hem color I’m not crazy about... Has this ever happened to you? Am I being too neurotic???
Lastly, another cw of Sieste. Gorgeous, too, but I don’t like the beige on the trees. (Mind you, I am being super nitpicky because there are just too many amazing goodies this season and I have to have a way to control myself!)

I am dying try the cws that Pautinka and FugitiveRouge and Festus have!

Wow mcl1818! Just gorgeous, and it looks fabulous on you. Of course there is no such thing as a pop in - too many pretty things. Congrats!Went to the boutique today since I was in the mall doing some other returns (I'll just *pop* in and take a look....right?!). They had the Duel Oniriques 90 in green! I don't recall the CW since it's no longer available online to quick reference but I took some pics if anyone is interested. It's very vivid! However once I made my way into cashmere I just had to ask if they had a Rocabar 140 in CW 14... I had seen it in Barcelona and couldn't get it out of my head, tried to let it go. Of course they had just one left and I loved it. However it had a couple little tiny barely noticable pulls, but for the price if there's pulls it's going to be my fault - so they're having one shipped up from Texas. I think the science has proven it is near impossible to just POP IN to an H boutique!

Usually, I do not think white is flattering with my skin tone and I don't like scarves with white spaces in the design. White hem on a multi color scarf sounds like a lazy gesture for me.
The first thing that attracts me to H scarves is the sense and use of colors. I was fascinated by the multiplicity and diversity of cw for a single design (PdS, JS for instance). Unfortunately, with the new Family Color Game, this magic sense of color is slowly fading.

Hey Hannasophia, thank you so much for tying Animapolis in the most safisticated, grown-up ways! You look great. This scarf is a little bit too busy for my simple taste (I am looking for Zabavushka though - go figure), but I absolutely love seeing this scarf on you. I liked the yellow road corner as well. Thank you again!
Congrats! I see why you couldn't get it out of your mind, it's perfect on you, @mcl1818. And thanks for sharing the green cw of Duels Oniriques. Its back is not saturated; the hem is a lovely grey. So magical! This was not on my wish list for this season at all, but it was lovewhen I saw it.

This is fabulous Hat Trick. One of the SAs in Glasgow told me yesterday on the phone that Hermès came to Scotland to visit the Paisley museum and that this design is taken from an actual old piece. I had expressed concerns over the flying bugs and that it didn't look as traditional as I hoped..... obviously I was wrong! I had taken this off my wish list but her info and your fab pictures have put it straight back on.I think I'm in love with it too!
What I actually bought this week...
CSGM Paisley in cw06 MI/ bleu claire/blanc/r (rouge?). Not because it makes me think of paisley at all...it reminds me of Turkish iznik tiles, which I adore! Pictured also with bleu paradise mini Berline.
