I see you mention €, was this in Paris? I was thinking of making the purchase in Paris but was wondering how readily available it is in store. Did you make prior arrangements with an SA to look out for himalaya or did it just happen to be there whilst you were shopping?
Yes this was in Paris. Initially I asked for a lizard sandals and the SA offered me the Himalayan as an option. I never scheduled anything with the SA all I did was ask the SA from the men department about a couple of shoes. One thing though he first checked my profile before offering me anything exotic.
I was also offered SO shoes on my last visit to my local boutique. My SA showed me the range of styles, which to my surprise also included the Destin Loafers and the Jumping boots. I was considering a pair or chypre or oran but the price tags are a bit hard to come to terms with in my opinion. Chypre croc matt: around 4,500€
He didn't immediately mentioned the 20% price difference from normal stock. Turn around time was 5 months approx.
I love lizard and would prefer a solid bright color. However, it looks like in my store only croc has color choices and lizard only comes in ombre. He then showed me a pair chypre (not in my size) in orange lizard and the price difference with the croc SO was around 1k from what I recall.
I think SO shoes are worth it for the really special leathers and colours like hima or ombre....my store receives sandals in solid exotics and I will just wait for a pair to pop up.
Btw: he told me he once had a client place an SO for the jumping boots in Hima

Just wanted to say Jumpings do exist in Hima anyway. I think an SO might be advised for the perfect size/ fit. Also have a school mum friend who wears RS lisse Jumpings to match her Birkin. why, am I getting ideas of how wonderful it would look to get both orans (for the summer) and jumping boots (for the winter) in croc to match my kelly....I need to leave this thread
