It's Carpe Diem by Joachim Metz, then renamed to Gloria Soli. The name is right over the sun in the middle of the scarf. As much, as I can see, yours is Gloria Soli.

Omg! Highlighting YOU ARE UNBELIEVABLE!!! I cannot even thank you enough for your kind help. I put my glasses on several times before to look for this scarf's name. Never found it. It is indeed Gloria soli. Thanks again hon!!!

Item: Hermes Eperon d'Or 90x90 twill scarf
Listing number: no specific listing - general question
Issue: Regarding the carrè Eperon d'Or, I found two different versions in the web:
one without the copyright (c) next to Hermès Selliers Paris and another with the copyright (c). Pls see images attached that I grabbed from the web.
Is that a matter of issue of year, or fake or are there different versions?
Thanks a lot!!

I see you got this answered in the "authenticate" thread but question back: What is "Sellier"? I have seen a few scarves with this and am curious.

Thanks, Jahna

"Sellier" is saddler.
H used to sign like that on scarves that featured equestrian equipment like E d'Or.

Aha! I should have looked that up. I got stuck on the "Sell" part and thought it was from another line Hermès had.

Thanks Seton! (I love your site, by the way!)

I was reading the French business press the other day about the LVMH kerfuffle, and they were referring to H as "le sellier", as if saddlery was still their main line of business. It made me smile, and wonder if that's how corporate H still insists upon the brand being referred to - a nod of sorts to their origins

Well, this brings up another question: what is the "LVMH" kerfuffle (love that word). You must speak French and English fluently? Other languages as well?

I'm French and I've lived in the US for a while now, but I still read newspapers from both sides of the Atlantic with my morning tea :smile1: I used to live in the Netherlands and also still read Dutch news from time to time, mostly to keep my vocabulary in half-decent shape

The NY Times has a good summary of the lawsuit and counter-lawsuit between LVMH (they now own a big share of Hermes' stock) and Hermes: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/05/business/global/hermes-battle-with-lvmh-moves-to-courts.html
