Such a beautiful picture! The scarf is Jardin à Sintra, designed by Annie Faivre, belongs to the autumn/winter 2017 collection.
This is one of my favourite scarves in this colourway (Gris/Bleu glacier/Vert). I wear it almost every day in the autumn.

The design history published by Hermès:
"In Portugal, on the Atlantic coast, just twenty kilometers from Lisbon, lies Sintra, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage “Cultural landscape” in 1995. Near the town's historic center, the palace and park of Monserrate add their astonishing beauty. Inspired by Gothic, Indian and Moorish art and nestled in luxuriant grounds, this fantasy of stone and trees was acquired by a British textile magnate in the second half of the nineteenth century. Species brought here from the four corners of the globe thrive in the gentle climate. Organized by origin, they create a haven of unrivaled tranquility. Designer Annie Faivre was dazzled by the site’s beauty: her carré is designed to evoke the luxuriant, romantic park populated with palms, cacti, banana trees, eucalyptus, wisteria, holly, tree ferns, cork oaks and agaves."

Thank you so much! I had seen this scarf online before, but not in this colorway. I didn't recognize it tied.

I love this colorway. I will try to track it down!

Hello there

I have just scored this Minéraux scarf in a vintage store ! Would you know how i can know when it is from? As there has been several editions of this design i believe. The silk is heavenly, very thick... and there are silvery threads
Thanks in advance for your help !!

Can anyone tell me what the scarf is that is tied around her neck? It probably should be Tout en Carre or Pappillons, but I can't make either fit with the diagonal white stripe on the ends... very confused :annoyed: maybe it is a very clever way to tie from the center?

This "papillon" scarf has been simmering at the back of my mind since Jahna posted it in Aug last year. I finally found it. It's an ascot for the ladies, shorter in length than the ascots for the guys. Got to practice and see if I can get the jaunty look in the scarf booklet pic.

That was from Bali Barrett's SOIE BELLE collection ca 2004 - 2006. There were 90cm twills, but also a lot of unusual new formats, ascot, sautoir, baseball cap, pointu. Lots of sporty stuff was featured in the booklets not so much the 90cm versions. it was also the first time (?) that men appeared in the scarf booklets, so SB was designed to appeal to a wide audience with graphic , geometric designs, no giant figural designs. Mostly primary colors eg the red and black above. BB has talked in articles about how she used a very limited palette.
The SB collection also had quite a few mashup designs like TOUT EN CARRE. The mashup craze kinda goes back to 2004
You either loved or hated the SB collection, there was not a lot of middle ground

You are a fount for unusual info, marietouchet!
Wondering now what the sautoir looked like. I've only come across that term for necklaces.

I did a little digging around and found the name and date.I know early scarves didn't have copyright marks or signatures,so here's hoping!
That sounds like an interesting book,is it still available?

Adding to great advice from @dublineuse : The 3d edition takes you through the 2017 season, I think. I may have seen one still available at Jan Goode’s vintage-hermes-scarf.com
There is a mistake here and there, but comprehensive and very helpful.
