Hello @Styleanyone , my local boutiques (2) all offer alterations and free of charge too. I had my pants altered (I was in between 2 sizes), the alteration was not easy either but they did a great job for me.

@BBC, H store at south coast plaza. I am going there today and will ask again. It is discouraging to buy anything that needs alterations.

Good luck and keep us posted. I’ve never shopped there, but SCP has a terrible reputation regarding customer service.

@BBC, I asked the store, for pants - they do have alterations but I didn’t get any today. They have some RTW pieces but none that I like.

It’s hard if they have a limited selection. I was very lucky that my Madison SA specializes in RTW.

I spent some time with her last week and not only did I try on things I wanted to, but I asked her to bring me pieces that she liked - I find that some pieces get a little less love because they don’t look great on the hanger. Even with scarves, there are certain ones that dont get a lot of play here but the SAs love and I find there’s usually a good reason why.

Anyway, one dress I would not have tried on in a million years (and is still a little “out there” for me) is very much on my radar now, and this little nothing top is truly unique and hung just right on me. So I have the opposite problem - I like too much! But you do have to have a patient and knowledgeable SA and you really have to try a bunch of things on.

An SA with a great eye is everything!
There are a lot of things, from RTW to bags to jewelry that I wouldn’t have given a second thought until I tried them on and once I did, I saw what made them special and what makes Hermès Hermès.

I absolutely agree with you. I never thought I would have in my closet some of the things that I passed on but my SA insisted I try .

You’ll never be the same once you’ve tried a one off runway piece, like a souple matte crocodile blazer. It will add a little pep in your step, even if you (sadly) didn’t get to take it home with you. I’m not in the 6 figure Ready to Wear league yet lol ;)
I’m very content I gave the leather version a very happy home though
