I hope someone of you can shed some light on this.
A while ago I knew there was a RTW item in another store in another EU country I would like to try on. The SA who was helping me could bring it in but I was almost 100% obliged to buy it if I wanted it transfered. Both stores aren't franchise. Does anyone of you know why they want you to buy it almost for sure when they transfer a RTW item? I would think both stores are operated by Hermes so therefore it should be easy to transfer and try it without feeling the pressure to buy it, just like the online store. Is each store maybe operating on a budget for example? It's pretty annoying.
If there is a beter thread for my question please redirect me. Thank you in advance.
I was told sometimes they have to “swap” merchandise with the other store, so I guess it’s not so simple as having it transferred in. It seems to be a bit of work for the SA thus why they want to know you are serious about the item.

This. They do an item-trade between stores so if they bring in something for you, they have to send something of near equivalent value to the other store for their inventory. So essentially they are sourcing an item that they didn’t buy for their own store because they didn’t expect their clients to be interested in it for and item they deliberately ordered thinking it would be easy to sell. If you then don’t buy the transferred piece, the store “is stuck” with a stock item they never even wanted AND theoretically lost out on a sale they thought they’d be able to easily make (the item they sent away). Also, some stores don’t play nicely with each other. I wanted a swimsuit and the only one left in the country was at the Beverly Hills store. My SA and SM called to try to have it transferred, and even though I was 100% buying it, the BH store wouldn’t send it, saying they think they’ll be able to sell it on their own but if it was still there in a month, they’d consider allowing a charge send for it. I gave up my request at that point as I felt it was forcing my store to “call in a favor” and wasn’t worth it. So maybe it’s a situation like that where your SM doesn’t want to go to war for an item if it’s not a guaranteed sale.

When a new RTW collection is out my SA said they can't transfer anything from another store the first month.
I didn’t experience the same though. Even the cruise collection was only started to come in my SA and the stock manager were able to transfer a T-shirt for me, just I need to wait until mid December to purchase it as the cruise is not for sale in our store yet.

Double faced cashmere coat, really like the design.
Here is mine in grey! It’s very warm and quite oversized - had to get it in the smallest size.

I’m still trying to figure out what accessories it goes with, but I love it for fall/spring.
