Hello. I normally don’t venture into H ready to wear but I saw a beach coverup online that I fell in love with. However it looks HUGE! I’m only 5’0 tall and think it may overwhelm me. I tried the H poncho on once and it practically swept the floor. Does H ready to wear generally lean towards taller people?
Yes but free alterations... granted not everything can be altered but more than you might think. I am 4”10 and I have had some RTW altered

Thank you for pointing out that H usually tailors for taller folks, @Meta .
My SA always tries to convince me of the opposite and obviously everything looks great on me, no matter how large and wide. I adore many of the RTW pieces but none of what I have tried had the right fit, neither shorts, trousers, skirts, coats or jackets. I am especially struggling with the cuts on my shoulders and waist. I would love to indulge since many things seem very wearable and the fabrics used are simply gorgeous but I am not willing to spend thousands on something that doesn’t fit my frame properly. I am probably spoiled by Chanel and the in-house seamstress (my H doesn’t offer any alterations, not sure this is the same for all boutiques) but I don’t like oversized clothing on me and just feel I can’t warm up to H RTW.

Is there any particular line of RTW that I should look into, any recommendations from the tiny ladies here? Been following this thread for a long time and feel sizing can be a bit all over the place?
I see that there is petite sizing for a pair of culottes on the H website. This leads me to believe they cater intentionally to smaller frames for some items.

VOYAGE CARDIGAN
I love the casual look and soft. Perfect for the early morning and late at night temperature (30 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit.)

We're twinning! I just bought this the other day. Looks fab on you!
@tlamdang08 and @Txoceangirl, did you find this cardigan runs large? I bought the v-neck sweater and had to go down one size from my usual size. My store didn't have the cardigan, but they will order one for me and am wondering whether to also size down in the cardigan.

Thanks for pointing me in that direction. Assuming this means I am right and sizing really differs from piece to piece and collection to collection. Challenge accepted.
I think you and me are of similar build and I have bought dresses that I didn't need to alter. I have also find they knits like cardi, jumpers, tunic or dresses fit really well on me. Coats are a bit hit and miss. Some in 34 fit me well but some even in 34 look like 3 sizes too big. It really depends on the style. And my store offers free alteration. HTH!

Definitely reassuring, thank you! Interesting that not all stores offer alterations, thought mine was big enough to offer all services.

The cardigan ís oversized a bit but I think that is cute. I don’t want to size down at all. When it comes, try it and if you still want to size down then exchange:smile:. I hope it’s a help.

I took a 36 as this was the fit style i wanted. I usually run between 36 and 38 for H tops depending on cut. HTH

BF4CFBEA-9CF3-4C4A-9CC5-0AECC74F16A4.jpeg Had some fun at RTW event at my store. Fell in total love with this long haired camel coat. As I live in So Cal, this wasn’t the most practical purchase so I passed. Size shown is 38 and $7700. The H RTW rep said that 34 would be my size.
Bought a few other goodies instead, dress, cardigan and belt. I’ll post those picks once the cardigan comes in.
