Thank you so much, I think I’m gonna screen shot your reply and read it every time I’m receiving a WhatsApp from my SA or visit the boutique ❤️. You’ve exactly described what happened… I had been more than one year (since April 2022) waiting for my SO, and it never arrived. The boutique didn’t apologize but I tried to find the positives about it and took this as an opportunity to refresh my thoughts and choose something different this time.
My SA was acting weird, maybe they had received instructions to be more demanding with customers and increase sales, who knows. She was like in a rush to show a lot of things, when normally she doesn’t act like that. I somehow felt something was not going well and wanted to help - then I felt stupid about spending that much in something I didn’t need or really want.

Oh well… a voucher is not the ideal, but it’s always better than a sweater sleeping in a wardrobe. So I will opt for that and have that “savings account” for whenever I find something that really makes my heart sing ;)
I would simply tell your SA that right now scarves make your heart sing more than RTW. She would rather you be honest than have to process a return.

@Chrismin , I prefer the shorter length on this type of pant. I think the cut of the pant is better without a break, and this cut doesn’t puddle nicely around the ankles the way it might with a fuller leg. I rejected a pajama top and bottom last year bc to shorten would be to sacrifice the gorgeous pattern edges. I did not try these pants on, and that was one of the reasons. Perhaps others would not notice the longer leg on this pant, but I am short and it happens to be one of my issues lol. Having said that, if you adore and must have the pant, this shouldn’t stop you lol

Hi all — question on alterations ..! I need to have these pants shortened
Ideally I would like to retain the original end — which would limit me to a little longer hem .. I wanted to know if you thought it looked too long or will it pass .. would appreciate your feedback !View attachment 5881315View attachment 5881316View attachment 5881313View attachment 5881314
I agree it would be ideal to keep the original trim. Would you ever wear them with different boots? Perhaps one with a slight heel that would allow the extra fabric to flow a bit lower? The boots you have on in the picture are quite flat and I think you could gain at least an inch of extra length for the fabric to sit without puddling. But I think it could pass as is in this modern day aesthetics of street wear for a more relaxed casual feel too. You might regret it if you shorten the hem because you won’t be able to get the length back.

Although I know that its on trend to wear trousers on the long side of things I agree with @880 that I think the trousers are too slim in the leg to have a break.
My advice would be to have them shortened.
Not cut but turned and sewn with tape so that if wanted they can be let down, pressed and re-hemmed at a longer length at some point if you wish.

Hi there. I bought these pants and also had to have them hemmed. I was concerned about the finish as well, but based on your shots I was able to get away with keeping the chain detail as you have pictured on the left. Were you only planning to wear with loafers? If you're open to a different shoe, you can still keep the chunkier feel, but instead wear a block heel or wedge, which will change how the hem falls and you'll be able to keep the longer length.

@elbeee1 may I ask how tall you are ? I’m a stocky 5’2” w short legs

I’m 5’5. If I were you, I would consider either shortening to the chain and wearing a with a heel, or shortening to the first white on the right (so another 3/4” or so) making them a chic ankle length.
That’s a good thought
I’ll try that
Otherwise I think I may return

@maxroxxherhandbags @880 thank you for your insight ! I can’t even tell you how much time I’ve spent thinking about these pants - it may just need to be a return.

I’m also vertically challenged at 5’0 and tried on the zipped convertible pants - in the cropped position they are ankle length on me. They did look really nice as shorts. But I had to pass as the 38 didn’t fit my waist and they didn’t have bigger sizes. I think the 40 would have been too baggy on the butt/legs and *even longer*

Thanks again for you insight ! I’m starting to feel these pants may not be worth it ..

I’m so sorry. I loved them too. But my issue wasn’t simply the break. As a shortie, I don’t want a slim cut trouser to bunch up the leg and create a wavy line from the knee down, instead of a slim, architectural one. . .
