I think the sweatshirt fits and the dress is a size big. Having said that I have my tailor take in t shirts all the time, so if the weather is warmer where you are, and you will use the dress more, then go for it. Both are cute
Thanks so much! I’m in nyc which I suppose celebrates all seasons :) To my knowledge there’s no size 32(?) so would have to see what the tailor can do. I can probably make an argument for both

Hello! Can I get opinions on whether the Chevaloscope dress or sweatshirt is cuter (or neither haha). I currently got the dress and think it needs to be hemmed/shortened maybe taken in (maybe it fits me a little too boxy?). I’m pretty petite already in size 34 so I can’t go smaller for either. Having a hard time decide which I might wear more?! But do think the dress needs to be adjusted if I go with it. Thanks for your opinions either way!

The pocket t-shirt dress seems to run a touch smaller/shorter and I think fits me a little better

I like the sweatshirt on you more than the dress.
But Im also partial to H sweatshirt fit over their dress fit.

Thanks! Would you feel differently if I ask then to tailor it to fit better!? I want to make the dress work if I can but if not then yes maybe switch to sweatshirt (if they have it… I had tried it on 2 months ago, sigh!)
I also like the sweatshirt on you more than the dress. But I may be biased bc I don’t particularly enjoy T-shirt dress.

both have a young cute sleep wear vibe. Honestly, I prefer dior t shirts (linen and cotton blend) to Hermes but it’s a different aesthetic. But, I still kind of think of a twillane as a bathrobe (My mom and I joke about wearing our bathrobes out to dinner)

I like the dress on you better, but that is just because I like dresses more. The dress does look a little big.

I got the sweatshirt a few weeks ago, but I didn’t see the dress until later and was thinking of exchanging mine, but was concerned with the sheerness of a white t-shirt dress.

Tbh the t-shirt dress looks like something to wear to go to sleep. JMO

Thank you all for your feedback! I do appreciate it all! I suppose it’s personal too if one prefers casual dresses or sweatshirts, as I can see. I agree I need to take in the dress or exchange for sweatshirt or something else altogether. I love this design a lot (got 3 scarves!) and I suppose I can let it go if it doesn’t work.

The dress material is thicker/stiffer not very see through. The T-shirt dress is a thinner fabric, as a reference. But I think because of that more form fitting/less boxy on me. I do like the idea of casual summer on the go dresses, but if it doesn’t fit me well it’s not going to be worth it in the end. Maybe I’ll switch for a chaine d’Andre sweater they also look nice and didn’t try. The twillaines I think are too large on me and don’t look like they can be altered much :/

Hi! You know that I love both pieces. I agree that the dress is boxy, but that is the fit. I have the same issue with it looking a bit oversized, but I wear these dresses layered with some version of a cardigan over it, so you don’t really see that the fit is big. The only time I wouldn't wear it layered is if it’s really hot out.

With that said, and having just taken a look at one of my Hermès t-shirt dresses, there is a seam on either side, so I don’t imagine that there would be any issue for the dress to be taken in, and you can have it shortened. I am planning to visit Madison next week and I may bring one with me to see what they say when I request to have it taken in.

Dont think the twillanes can be altered and they are huge even if in small sizes. I debated whether to throw mine in the wash and shrink it. I have the chaine dAncre pullover sweater (it also comes in a cardigan) and I love it. The Bdg pullover and cap sleeved pull over, and the matching skirt are also nice and are more fitted.

I also have a Chaine d’Ancre sweater and I love it. It’s a slimmer fit. The length is perfect on me (I’m 5’4”). If you like the twillaine look, they make a short-sleeve twillaine sweaters, too. Let us know what you decide to do!

I almost suggested the same thing! :ghi5: The SA brought that cap-sleeved pullover in a few months ago (“just to try”), and it’s been haunting me ever since. :winkiss:
