Hermes Price Increase 2012 ??

I called my SA because I was going to go in tomorrow morning to look at and possibly buy something. My SA told me to buy the item now (over the phone) because as of tomorrow it would be the new price. If I decide against the item I simply will get a refund on my card.

But tomorrow, at the opening bell, it is definitely the new pricing.

:crybaby:

Thanks audreylita - I feel like I live in the Dark Ages of Hermes. Called the local store and was confirmed about the date of the price increase but they pretended that they're not sure about the %. The same answer I got that there are no leather bags in the store (at least on the display case). I bet that they will bring out some more tomorrow and pretend that it is new shipment !!:wacko::wacko:

Thank goodness, I've bought from the Vegas store and the nice SA is searching the system to see if there is anything that I'm looking for that can be rung up today.

You dont get the money credited back to your CC...you get Hermes store credit and when you buy something next time, they just include the store credit. I know, kind of a bummer bc its not like its just a couple of bucks, its usually a couple thousand. :faint:

Audreylita, I thought they only give you store credit for returns of items you don't want and not ever a refund to your cards????? Am I wrong or is that only with bags or on items they procured for you from another H store? TIA

Thanks for agreeing with me! That's the way my store does it, only gives store credit, maybe different in other cities?

I know that my store has some bags that they won't release today. It is upsetting that I've to pay an extra 9% tomorrow just because they want to make more. I can understand if they don't have any stock.

I think it's up to the SA. My SA called me for a bag yesterday and a bag today.

Just wondering... Which store refunds to credit card? My local H store only gives store credit. Even though store credit never expires, nothing is better than money back. Please share the H location that refunds to credit card.....

I went to H last weekend and wanted to get some goodies before the increase, the info for price increase from my SA was "1/26 for scarf, 2/01 for jewelry/watch".

I also checked previous thread and tried to get some percentage of the increase, for example, the 140 cashmere/silk shawl gm priced $980 in Jan/2011 then $1075 after increase which was almost 10%... sigh...

Mamma Mia! This just means that for most of us, we'll just have to be extra mindful of our future purchases bc the prices are getting bananas!

Watch the website for price increase timing and amounts. Demand always drives prices and Hermes is doing extraordinarily well worldwide.

None of this surprises me -- the last minute grab what you can before the price increases; stock held in the back, etc. I saw the same antics with Chanel. After a few years of it, you want to toss in the towel, praise the Lord for what you have and say I'm done with buying new goods. In retaliation, I bought stock, figuring there will never be a shortage of folks scrambling for the newest colors, etc. So I never get another new 28, I'll be happy to take the dividends and buy pre-loved pieces.

A very good idea!!:flowers:
