Hermes Paris Summer Sale 2019

Just back in my hotel room. I had excellent luck this time (my 8th sale) and crowds weren’t bad. If you are in Paris and are considering whether to brave the heat and go my advice is to go for it. They have changed the layout of the merchandise at the Palais des Congres but it’s no problem. And big news: the discounts on the scarves and ties is now a flat 50% as opposed to the usual approximate 40% discount. Those percentages add up quickly in Hermès terms. And more good news: for the first time in the eight sales I have attended, this sale featured both jewellery and belts (usually it’s one or the other). For myself I managed to get one of my beloved (and hard to find) men’s Clic H bracelets (welcome to my collection ardoise, my 11th Clic H), some cool trainers, an H throw in navy (has been on my bucket list forever and will go well in my new flat) and two cashmere/silk 140s. My work colleagues should be very happy with the three silk 90s and maxi twilly that I found for them.

I went with a PurseForum buddy and she cleaned up on the ladies’ bracelets, she was delighted.

Good luck to everyone who is able to make the sale!

Thank you for your report! I felt experiencing the same excitement as you had.

Haha, that was me going crazy buying bracelets. I went with @DavidFincher for the sale, and am I glad I did!

The jewelry made the sale worthwhile for me, there were CDCs, KDTs, mini dogs, be Hapi, enamels, in a range of sizes, with XS/T1 having the smallest collection. I was stoked that there were exotics too for the leather bracelets!

There are purchase limits for each area/booth - eg: 5 pieces of jewellery, 10 pieces of 90 carres, 5 twillies...and I believe 3 cashmere/silks if my memory serves me correctly.

They allow perhaps 10-15 persons to browse at each booth, and while there's supposed to be a 10 min limit for each cycle, it's often allowed to stretch to 15-20min and beyond. Enforcement varies, and that makes it frustrating for the people waiting.
I waited close to an hour in the cashmere/silk queue.

I'd advise prioritizing what you think is important, and make a beeline for that booth first, because things do sell out, and you may also run out of time. 2-2.5 hrs sounds like a lot, but it isn't if you spend 20-40min waiting in line.

Overall, it was well organized. There were some queue-cutters, but no scuffles or disorderly behaviour.

Thanks @DavidFincher for the company!
