If the most important things of their merchandise which are the K and B are not on sale since they are the most expansive. other stuff is relatively affordable so it's not worth the trip.

Not necessary. For example, you can get cashmere GM shawls for about 400EUR each, half off of European retail price for previous seasons' shawls (some are no longer available for sale in the U.S. and marked up heavily by resellers). Buying 2 shawls like that basically pays off the air ticket.
I don't see any reason why B or K should ever get on sale. If they are in high demand and short supply even in boutiques, whoever has a sound mind would never sell for less than retail for a brand new one. Ever.

I was thinking the same thing - as a general business principle of looking to always stay in the black, this would never be done. Not, as you point out, by sane and rational business owners....and so I guess, at least for the U.S. market, the same is starting to be said of H scarves....truly sad....

I think H just needs to produce more at this point....even the resellers have used the scarcity of H product to justify exorbitant prices.....to success, I might add....

The sale is at a different location : Palais de Congres (port maillot metro). The stores will not have sale items. I was in Paris a month ago and at the flagship store, watched a woman 'trying out' two different birkins to see what she liked better. I saw them showing kellys also.

Does somebody knows the exact location , because , all the last years it was on a private location and Palais des congres is very big

I'm reading this discussion...but I can't understand if the date 16-19 Jan, 2013 is confirmed or not. I'd like to go to Paris to participate to the Vente Promotionelles in Porte Maillot but I should be sure about the date... Could anyone help me about that? Is a sale open to evryone or we need an invitation?
Some years ago we had the same in MIlano and it was open to all people.
