Still looked like this a few days ago. Didn't appear that anything was happening behind the barricade.Yep let's hope they are busy behind that getting everything ready for us
Any sense on how this store will compare to the San Francisco store in size?
That san fran store is pleasant but it can't hold a candle against BevHills, for ex- it definitely needs an update. It's just one big open space with a room in the back.I don't know the answer to this, but do know that SF is supposed to expand. Supposedly it was to have been done a couple of years ago, but they apparently overlooked the fact that they couldn't get the other tenants in the building to leave simply by speaking to them in French!

I haven't seen the "new" BH store, but I hear it is lovely. I don't expect SF to change anything until they can do the expansion. The hold up has been that there are other tenants in the building who did not want to move. But I believe that has delayed, but not scrapped expansion plans. We really need it - SF is a flagship, but the furniture room is so tiny, as is the area for home goods. It will be great when more stuff can be on the floor and we can turn around.
I was in the boutique last Sat and I was amazed at the number and variety of bags on display. Several colors, several sizes, several styles - exotics, too. And there were nice bags not on display, too. The new manager is doing a great job!!
Thanks for posting this! Wish it were opening sooner as my SF SA recently transferred to the KOP store.Well, it's official - but not opening until late 2017 or early 2018!
HERMÈS AND CARTIER TO OPEN IN NEWLY RENOVATED STANFORD SHOPPING CENTER IN PALO ALTO
Global retail real estate company Simon has announced that Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, California will be adding high-fashion retailer Hermès and the French luxury house Cartier to its newly renovated shopping destination.
Hermès will open a 6,000-square-foot store in the heart of the newly transformed center, near Neiman Marcus. Slated to open in late 2017 or early 2018, the boutique will present a comprehensive offering of men’s, women’s, home and equestrian collections to local Stanford residents, Silicon Valley and the Stanford University community. This store will be the first new U.S. market location for Hermès in over five years.
Cartier will open this fall adjacent to Hermès. The new boutique was designed in-house to reflect the look and feel of Architect Bruno Moinard.
In addition to Hermès and Cartier, Stanford Shopping Center has welcomed many well-known retailers to the center during the summer of 2016, including British fashion house AllSaints, the first U.S. location for women’s Italian fashion brand Luisa Spagnoli, outdoor lifestyle brand The North Face, British perfume house Penhaligon’s, Pink Posy Bake Shop, Spanish jewelry brand UNOde50, men’s dress and casual shoe retailer Allen Edmonds, sustainable fashion brand Amour Vert, Jenni Kayne’s refined wardrobe and home essentials inspired by modern California living, as well as indoor cycling reimagined for home by Peloton.
Alex and Ani and Anthropologie will open their doors to Stanford Shopping Center guests later this fall.
“With every new retailer that opens and every announcement that is made, we are solidifying our commitment to the center, the Palo Alto community and our dedicated shoppers,” said Julie Kelly, director of marketing and business development at Stanford Shopping Center. “We love adding amazing new options to our retail mix, especially stores that have chosen our center as their new home in Northern California.”
