Hopefully she can just exchange it for the same one since its just a twilly? Thanks! I bought a twilly on Tuesday and just realized there was a hole… SA seems ok with the return but I’ve never returned anything and didn’t know how it’s perceived!

How it’s perceived to return an item that was defective? The only way that’s perceived is that your SA apologizes many times and immediately works to get you a new one! There is no world where Hermes expects you to keep a defective item.
Yes both of you make sense! I’ve just never gotten a defective item from a designer store (lucky!) so wasn’t sure if they ever doubt the customer didn’t do it. I did text him like an hour after I left the store though since I’m quick to unbox when I get home.Hopefully she can just exchange it for the same one since its just a twilly?
I'm excited! I'm actually looking to buy Kelly sneakers and maybe the Oz Mule. Still a win if I get these even without a bag since these are very hard to come by in my home store. You should plan to spend a little while. The Madison store is beautiful - I think it rivals FSH (actually I think it’s nicer 😬😬😬)
Hoping that I will be pleasantly surprised! Got a lindy 26 black clemence leather and ghw as a walk in, on my very first boutique purchase experience. But this was in Japan though. You never can predict anything with Hermes.. I would go in and get pleasantly surprised if it does happen. You would have to spend quite a bit I would think. If you only plan to come this one trip then the chances are low. But if you go at least once or twice a year then it can happen. This is from my personal experience.
so am I understanding correctly that you actually bought the necklace at $3700 and you have it in your possession, and now they are trying to get you to pay another $1300????I purchased a very nice silver jewelry necklace in NYC last week.
I guess it was a slightly different version than I had seen before. I inquired about the original version and my SA said it was sold out then checked and found that one. He gave me the price and I loved it more than the original I had seen. It costs about $3700.
Today he sends me a text that he gave me the wrong price and it’s over $5000…
He said that I can pay the discount or return it.
I know that the law is usually in the customer’s favor and they should honor the price. He asked his manager and it was a no apparently because it’s his mistake?!
I am pretty upset but I refuse to pay more for it (I said it nicely) especially for silver.
He said that he would get me the original necklace instead and I can try it or process the return.
I already know that I don’t like the original design as much.
Has anyone have a similar problem in NYC?
Thanks for your input!

How is this even possible??? I know SAs can make mistakes, but with H, they always just scan/enter in the product reference. He must've entered in a completely different product reference to what you purchased in this case. What are you planning to do?I purchased a very nice silver jewelry necklace in NYC last week.

yeah they legally cannot do that. I believe something similar happened at Cartier if I am remembering the brand correctly (web error caused an item's price to be significantly lowered) and they canceled the customers order and that went to court. Ultimately settled out of court and the client "won"Yes! 🤯
I think I remember seeing something and it was clash earrings and he got a pair for $28, or $14 each, instead of the full $28,000 LOL. I am appalled that this situation has become a reality for you. I'll let others chime in on their thoughts and how it may ultimately impact your relationship with the maison.
that's right it was the clash earrings. Ultimately, Cartier sent him two pairs for $28 after much litigation. In OP's case, they entered into a legally binding contract with her. She paid the advertised price and walked away and they cannot ask her to pay more in good faith.I think I remember seeing something and it was clash earrings and he got a pair for $28, or $14 each, instead of the full $28,000 LOL. Legally, you purchased it and it now belongs to you for the price you paid. Your purchase and sales receipt will say so in some legal language. If you wanted to push this, you could and probably win, however say goodbye to your relationship as I'm guessing if you pushed, the difference would come out of your SAs paycheck. At the end of the day, you got an item for less than you should have been able to. It was never actually the price you paid but a clerical error happened in your favor. By returning it with little fanfare, your SA will likely be relieved and "reward" you in the near future for being so understanding and easy to work with.I purchased a very nice silver jewelry necklace in NYC last week.

If this happened at any other place other than Hermes what would you do?I purchased a very nice silver jewelry necklace in NYC last week.
