Might be a wee bit tough. Though I did see a large one in the glass case so at the DD store a few months ago. I think the store is in short supply rn.

Tbh, would buy on the online H store, they always have a drop of Herbags in the mornings.
Herbags are almost always available on US website Ive noticed. As a thought you could try there

Stopped by the store yesterday as a tourist. I loved the St. Louis display as my home store doesn’t have this!
One thing I was shocked to see how terrible customer service was. SAs were literally watching YouTube videos on their phone. I was just browsing but there were clients who were quite upset they had to pull teeth to get service. There were also very few bags on display.

My first time seeing the St. Louis lamp was actually at this store thanks to their display! I haven’t seen a display like that at any other store I’ve been to so far.

We also had a hard time tracking down an SA to help us last year when we went although the first time we went (about 2.5 years ago) the SA that was assisting us offered me a black Evelyne TPM without me buying anything or asking for a bag which has never happened to me at my local store 😆

Hi, I have been reading through the last 20 pages and I keep reading about competitive stores. I’m pretty new to Hermes basically because I couldn’t afford it before. Fast forward and I’m now in a comfortable position to walk in and spend a few thousand each visit. However I don’t have endless pockets and I’m sure my SA can read that on me. I shop at the Miami design district store and I’m wondering how competitive that store is? On my first visit with my SA I spent 3,5k excluding a non QB. My SA mentioned if I want a K or B to drop in a couple of times more before Christmas and let her know what to look out for. I never really discussed it further. It seemed like with spending 10-15k I could get a quota bag before year end.. but reading the forum this seems like a pipe dream. Does anyone have any insight on Miami design district? My SA said they are prioritizing local and new clients

It’s hard to say with Hermès, especially if a particular store is considered competitive. My suggestion may sound ridiculous to some. If I were you, I would establish myself as a frequent shopper by visiting the store once a month, building a relationship with your Sales Specialist, and spending a minimum of $1,000 every month (excluding non-quota bags). Although I find it hard to believe non-quota bags do not count towards one’s spending. Always express your wishes! Enjoy the shopping experience and buy things you love. I apologize for not being of much help with the Miami store. Welcome to Hermès!

Thank you for the response! It’s been such a fun experience and my self confidence has taken a huge pop with the update to my wardrobe! I’m already over a 1x prespend and would be at a 2x prespend if they included sale and non Qb’s.

I’d say to follow your SAs lead. Everything with Hermes is “it depends.” Sounds like Miami is looking for new customers and you may be able to benefit from that.

Hi All! I'm going to be in Miami in February and was wondering if these is any possibility of scoring a Birkin or a Kelly at the store? I usually only buy Hermes overseas and sometimes in NYC so I don't have any pre spend at the store. Is there an SA that is "friendlier" than the others? I will definitely looking at other things while I'm there, I've been looking for another wallet, maybe some shoes too.. I'll have to see what kind of inventory they currently have, and may possibly do a pre spend while I'm there.. I'm just curious about peoples most current visits to the store.. TIA!

I think this is accurate and as a new client you could benefit. I would not recommend spending on anything unless you love it, even without a bag offer though :D I would also try to remember that a bag offer has to be approved by a manager. It’s not entirely up to the SA. Good luck and have fun.

They really don’t seem to prioritize locals either, and the shift in the store's dynamics is hard to ignore. The service feels more impersonal, and after spending so much, that last-minute Christmas offer feels more like an afterthought than a real gesture. With so much staff turnover in this store, it feels like the relationships you’ve built over time aren’t valued the way they once were. Angela seems like a solid manager, but it’s likely she’s just following the HQ policies.
Been a customer since Bal Harbor and spent over $30K last year alone. In other stores, you can sit down without having to buy anything, and they’ll still offer you something. A coffee maybe? It’s those little things that make the difference. Best of luck with your Hermes journey, but if it were me, I’d consider spending my money elsewhere (West Palm, NY..) or try to build a relationship in Paris instead. Miami is just a waste of time!

I am a local and I don’t think your expectations are realistic. It’s better that you know upfront rather than think your approach will land you a B or K.

I would suggest you pick a store in your local area or one of the overseas stores that you frequent on an annual basis to accomplish your goals. If you are not patient enough to go that route then perhaps you might consider purchasing a previously owned bag and have a trusted authenticator examine detailed photos of any bag you may consider buying from somewhere other than an Hermès boutique. The only way to make sure that your bag is authentic is to buy it from an Hermès boutique directly.

Bonne chance!

Without giving specific details, I have learned information through someone that works here, and I will be blunt. If your goal is to be offered one specific bag at this boutique I would just walk away while you are ahead. Especially if you don't have money to spend on other items or you truly don't want to buy anything at Hermes, but a bag. It likely will not happen for you. You can just imagine the amount of traffic in that store and how many people are looking to purchase a bag of choice. My suggestion is to invest your time and effort at another boutique or consider shopping for a gorgeous preowned bag. There are plenty out there from reputable resellers and you will save so much money in the long run instead of buying unwanted pieces at Hermes.

Sounds the same as all other US stores...unless you are implying some sort of underhandedness/fraud?

Nothing was implied in my post, so please do not assume anything.

Yes, it is similar to other US stores, but there is considerable traffic in Miami from locals and countless tourists. There is a great deal of wealth moving through that boutique on any given day.

I just dislike hearing about people spending ridiculous amounts of money with that hope of scoring the perfect bag. Just be careful what you spend and only spend what you are comfortable with. Over the years, I have watched too many friends spend way too much money and they were never offered a bag.
