1. Yes, as you can imagine neutral colours ± popular size means competitive environment. It also depends on your SA whether they have the "right or allocation" to offer that bag before they present the deal to the store manager. A lot of factors are at play
>> How long is an average waiting time? I'd say there's no such thing as "average wait time" as shopping at H does not guarantee you a bag offer. When and under what condition if you do get a bag offer, can be entirely different for each person even if they're with the same SA. That's why the H journey is an experience each to their own.
>> Is there a spending ratio or length of wait time you will say that I should consider jumping to another SA or speaking to SM? Yes and no, again just because you spend X amount doesn't guarantee you Y. However, as a consumer you certainly have the right to complain or raise an issue to be discussed.

Your situation: Can you share what's on your wishlist? Remember, there are many factors at play and sometimes it's nothing but merely they haven't received anything you might like.

Nonetheless, all the best on your very own H journey. 🫶🏻

2. Heard some rumors about sellier birkins are no longer being made, is that true?

Background:
Given how often SAs get pestered by customers about BKCs, I haven't really brought the topic up since I placed my wish.

I have exceeded my pre-spend for a few months(around 2.5-3:1 across multiple categories. Yes, that's not counting non-BKC bags). However, haven't heard anything from my SA...

Have you gotten a bag yet ? Maybe the pre spend or wait is higher for a 2nd or 3rd quota bag. I feel like trying but not sure if I should just go straight to a reseller.
If you have a specific bag that you want (meaning precise colour leather size & hardware), I'd highly recommend going to resellers. Especially given the secondary market has came down in price.

Getting your first quota bag (that is not a mini Kelly) is usually easier because it’s their strategy to get you started in the H journey, but most likely not in the specs you asked for, particularly neutrals and classics.

Once you get your first quota, the pre-spend criteria becomes much much harder unless you’ve been a long time client. Most of the time your pre-spend for bags in size 25 and smaller, needs to be more than 2:1 and more often than not, in the range of 3:1 or 4:1 depending on how high in demand your specs are.

Even after you hit high pre-spend, you’re not guaranteed a quota bag and even if you are offered one, it’s most likely not the specs you asked for. I have heard that some clients spent 4x more and only got offered a mini lindy so it can be very disappointing.

Like in other threads, it really does come down to a few factors:
1. How well your relationship is with your SA. What I mean by that is how much your SA thinks about you when they ask for SM’s approval of quota bags for their clients. And the only two ways to make them think of you are to make an impression on the things you buy, typically high value / difficult to sell items; and regular visits with consistent (medium to high value) purchases, so they remember you when bags arrive. It’s sad but very real.
2. How much they trust that you really know and love the brand. Show you’ve done your research, know enough about each season’s collection.
3. Timing of when the bag in similar/exact specs are available (which is pure luck) and then back to point 1. And how willing they are to fight the bag for you and prioritise you over their long list of clients.
4. Being polite and nice goes a long way, even if you’re losing patience.

No hard and fast rule and like what others said above, it’s different for each client even if you share the same SAs. Good luck shopping there!

Hi everyone! Will be visiting Melbourne in a few weeks time. Any insight into the availability of Picotin and Herbag 31 in the Melbourne store for walk ins? I'm Sydney CBD based and haven't had much luck over the past several months at our store.

I can only speak for the Picotin 18. I was offered one at the Melbourne city boutique a few years ago but pre spend is required. I purchased a ring, twilly, the sushi tray and another small tray. I also had to keep in touch with the SA every three months or so. It took around 14 months before she offered me the caban colour. I gave her many neutral colours which included Caban. No regrets in accepting it as it’s a very dark blue bordering on black. It suits my minimalist wardrobe anyway ☺️. If she offered noir, I would not have accepted that colour. Caban is softer.

I'm not in the market for either bag so can't give specifics but I think there may have been some recent deliveries at Chadstone, with an exotic mini Picotin and perhaps one or two others popping up on display in the last couple of weeks. It can't hurt to ask! I think the Collins Street store is still closed for renovations. It's scheduled to reopen in a week or so, which might increase the chances of finding something there if you will be in town around the opening.

Thanks so much! Actually kicking myself I am here in Melbourne a week before the Collins St reopening as I think you might be right and there could be some lucky finds. On the plus side, I managed to score myself a Picotin 18 on the website this week (still pinching myself) so probably should wait before I splash out again 😂

Hi everyone, new to the brand here but I am looking to start my Hermes journey. My local store would the the chadstone boutique, but from what I’ve researched it seems that the competition is quite high for relatively low stock. Could anyone shed some light on current prespend ratios for quota bags at this boutique?
I have also heard some international boutiques have better stock levels, am I better off building my purchase history in Hawaii, Japan, Hong Kong? Those are the countries I travel to frequently. I’m not interested in Paris FSH as the whole leather appointment lottery system is not for me. Thanks in advance!

I shopped at both stores (Collins and Chadstone) and I can tell you that both stores are quite competitive and need a lot of pre spending. They always have stock as everyone knows, but they just “select” who they’re going to give the bags to. Hermes journey isn’t cheap and it requires a lot of patience and mental energy. Some people might be lucky to get a QB without much pre spending or long wait, but that’s a rare case in Australia unfortunately. I’ve also heard that Hong Kong and Hawaii usually have lots of inventory and sometimes they even tell you directly of the $$$ amount you need to spend to be able to get a bag. If you travel regularly to those countries, I suggested you should try, you might have higher chance to score a bag than in Melbourne.

I replied in the other thread but the experience of friends at this specific store (Chadstone) for QBs, ratio ranges from 2-3:1. I haven't heard of any lucky cases, but it doesn't mean they don't exist. SAs have specifically mentioned to friends to focus on jewellery and rtw. I personally haven't received that advice but I'm also not spending in store to purchase bags as I take other routes. Good luck.

Hi, im quite new to Hermes game too. But I dont know if I got lucky or not many people are after Constance Elan but I got offer one in gold colour after 5 months and around $14k spent on watch and shoe.
I shop at Chadstone and my Sa is super nice and gave me his contact on my first visit. And on my second visit, he offered me the Constance Elan, one in gold and one in black.
And now I’m wondering if the Constance Elan is QB and after this I have to spend all over again to get at least 1:1 ratio to get offer a Kelly or not?
Thank you 😊

Congratulations on the elan!

From what I know, buying a watch almost gets you some kind of bag and spend ratio to elan seems reasonable imo.

Re your spend for the next quota bag (or any bag unless they are unpopular), the 14k you spent has most probably been used up for elan even if Constance might not be a quota bag so it has most probably reset and you need to start again for your next bag.

All the best on your next one!

Two years ago, I decided to begin my Hermes Chadstone journey with a very clear goal: I wanted a Kelly 25 Sellier in either black or etoupe. I knew it would be a challenge, but the allure of this iconic bag was too strong to resist. Before that, I had shopped sporadically with the brand, but once I set my sights on the Kelly, I knew I had to get serious.

A friend of mine had a Sales Associate who also happened to be a manager. I reached out, hoping to build a relationship through him, but he politely let me know his books were full. I understood—it’s all part of the process—and I was prepared to be patient.

I decided to shop with another SA I had previously purchased a pair of shoes from. She was a casual, meaning her availability would be more limited. However, the manager assured me that this wouldn’t affect my chances of securing a bag. That worked perfectly for me—I’d rather work with someone I liked and felt comfortable with, and she fit the bill.

After two years of consistent shopping, I’m thrilled to share that I finally received my dream bag: the Kelly 25 Sellier in black with palladium hardware! It’s been an exciting and rewarding journey, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

In total, I spent around $45,000 over these two years with my SA—without purchasing any other bags along the way. It’s definitely been a test of patience and dedication, but now that I have my dream Kelly in hand, it’s all been worth it.

For those of you on a similar journey, I’ll say this: it’s all about building a genuine relationship with your SA and trusting the process. Stay persistent, enjoy the ride, and when the moment finally arrives, it’s pure magic.

Anyone know the pre spend ratio for a mini kelly in neutral colour at Collins ? I'm after one but I'm not sure if I want to embark of a 4:1 pre spend for it.
Other bag that I want is a kelly pochette or kelly danse. Are these bags harder than the mini k ?

I can't answer this but I can say that I understand pochettes were recently ordered for Chadstone. I don't think I've ever seen a Danse on display but I could be wrong. Do you have a relationship at Collins?
