This is how airport stores work since they are not really able to establish repeat client relationships. Usually it’s 1:1 immediate spend required though.Hi all, leaving Amsterdam after a whirlwind 24 hour stay. I was at the de Bijenkorf location and they said they had no bags to offer so I walked out with a scarf ring I had wanted. At the airport just now I was told they had the exact bag (NOT a quota bag!) I wanted in the exact color but the SA said he could only offer me a bag if I spent at least half the price of the bag on other items. It felt like we were doing an alleyway deal - he pulled me into a corner and was whispering to me about it. I walked out with two Twillies. Anyone else have similar experiences? The SA could have been lying I guess but he was nice enough about it. I’m sad I didn’t get the bag but I feel ok about it.

Thanks but I am sad to report I didn’t get itCongrats on your new bag
I agree. I appreciate how honest he was about it, even though it did feel a little like I was doing a back alley dealHi. I had the exact same experience at the airport boutique. After browsing the store and deciding on an item for purchase, I asked if they had any bags in a specific bright color and the SA said they had a mini jypsiere. The SA did mention that I have to spend half the price of the bag on other items. I didn't even ask to see the bag as I was not interested in a mini Jypsiere. Honestly, I appreciate that the SA was so straightforward and direct about it. The SA was really nice and friendly too.
Sorry didn't read it rightThanks but I am sad to report I didn’t get it
I have heard so many different stories about the boutique at Schiphol. I haven't been able to visit the boutique myself. My flights are always when they are closed.I agree. I appreciate how honest he was about it, even though it did feel a little like I was doing a back alley deal
