Hermes franchise stores - how do they differ?

Hermes is closing down all the Franchise stores slowly...it's definitely closed. It was the best store too.

Ohhhhhh....so I guess the only store is the one in Miami right ? Holiday is not the same without my beloved store :(

Manhasset is still open and going strong. Plenty of inventory coming in and selling. They have several events throughout the year. I don't see them closing this one.

I will be heading to Munich, Prague and Vienna in May.
How to find out which stores are the main stores and which are the franchise stores?

Anyone has any experience in scoring a B or a K in the above places mentioned.
I was just in Vienna and Salzburg 2 weeks ago. I called each store prior to my trip to see what they had and bought a 31 bolide etoupe in Salzburg that they held for me. New stock comes once a week and they did have a B but it was ordered for someone else. Neither store had a lot of stock. I also asked about K and B-- neither had any

My friend who moved and switched to the Long Island store has spent over $50,000 at Manhasset and still no sign of B. They change the story every day. She is livid, and I keep telling her to just to goto Madison or Wall St.

Could Manhasset be another Vienna? I guess only time will tell...

Wow. Why won't she go to Madison or Wall St?

Well, they keep telling her she'll get one; and she feels like she's already "invested" so much time and money there. :nogood:

Ugh, such a pity. Her persistence threshold is much greater than mine! I hope she wasn't collecting $50K worth of H just to get the grail, and she loved every item (though somehow I highly doubt that?)

She's an H lover. But she should have spent the money at a store that keeps their word IMO. I just don't think it ever occurred to her that she would be lied to. She was basically a VIP at her previous store, so this is like a big surprise to her. I have to say, this definitely makes me wary of franchise stores...it's possible they may play by their own rules? :nogood:

Apologies about my wrong assumptions :flowers:. I think you're right and it's more than possible. I've read the shopping threads and coupled with my own experience, I'm sure some corporate stores have their own "rules", though this situation seems to have set a new record even by H standards. I hope she finds a resolution (or another store ideally).

No, no at all. She loves H, but I'm more than sure she wouldn't have spent a dime at Manhasset if she knew then what she knows now.

I am sorry for what has happened to your friend. Shopping should not be so stressful, especially when it comes to luxury shopping! You are a good friend for directing her. But if she decides to stay with the store and you don't mind, let us know when she does get her B. I am curious if the store will come thru for her and at what point...

WOW 50k??!! For that money she could've flown to Tokyo and get 3 Bs at L'ecrin!!! Hope the store will get her one very soon!

I started shopping in the manhasset store early last year. Spoke to an SA and asked about birkin and she said there's no waitlist and they don't take your name. Went there a different time and was helped by another SA who said I can get it but have to wait (wasn't given time frame). I've purchased probably 20-30k over almost a year and eventually got one.

I realized, however, that it is not necessarily how much you've spent. It's being consistent about going and showing interest in their product. Pace yourself and don't go crazy. My first visit this year (which was recently. My SA called me in) got me another birkin.

Tell your friend to be patient. The store is much more intimate than the Madison store. While I also get bags from Madison, I find the experience in manhasset much more pleasant and personal.

I'll pass along your advice, but my friend is one foot out the door already...She is a collector and has an enviable H collection. There are awful details about this story I could share but don't want to give her ID away...Just wanted to warn other members about this store, having heard all the stories about Vienna.

Hi just want to double check, are the "stories" about Vienna, Austria or Vienna, VA store?
