^The Herbag is nice and there are very cute combinations around. Be advised though that due to the positioning of the lock it doesn't hold as much as the size would suggest. I also find it a bit cumbersome to get in and out of, again b/c of the construction. I like to carry the Herbag when I don't have to access it too often.

edited: there is *one* seller on eBay who routinely sells preowned Birkins in the $5000 range, by the way, and they are authentic. If you have any questions about a particular listing or seller, please feel free to post them to the Authenticate This thread.[/quote]

would u feel happy about naming said ebay seller as i am interested?

thanx

please help...from my understanding there are several types of the Herbag with a couple different locks...I have reviewed the different PF areas however none seem to clearly state what the differences are....If possible..please provide pictures...further if this information is already posted on the PF..please provide me with the link...as I have missed it...

Thanks again to each of you in advance for answering my questions...

very exciting!!!!!! there are some super bolides out now in wonderful colors you might like for a new bag, if you search and search you might find a deal on a pre-owned kelly, best of luck!

Thanks to each of you for your suggestions...and I think you are right my first Hermes handbag should be new...Now please give me your opinions regarding the Herbag and the Victoria II.. I might purchase one of each...First being the Herbag..since according to the SA has been discontinued and what is in stock is all that remains...

Hi There,
Both are great bags, but my personal fav is the HERBAG! I have two of the cabas herbags - one in ebene leather w/vibrato leather (absolutely great!) or olive canvas bottoms, and the other in black leather, with toile or black canvas bottoms :smile1:

The herbags are just so versatile, IMHO - I use them for business travel as they carry a ton, are easy to get things in or out - and are just so very resilient to wear and tear. EDITED TO ADD: I should clarify that the cabas herbags are so versatile! I like the regular herbags but as other have mentioned, they are cumbersome to open/close.

Good luck no matter what you decide - and enjoy your first H purchase

There are TONS of types of Herbags, different sizes/colour combinations. But the locks are all the same. There is a Herbag called "Kabas" (or "Kabbas") which is a tote that is open, without a flap, it is carried over the shoulder.

Thanks to each of you for the wonderful recommendations on my first bag...Well I purchased the Herbag as the first selection(the black and navy choice with black leather) because this bag has been discontinued and I didn't want to miss out if I should love..love...love it..I hope this is just the first of many Hermes...Now I hope to purchase my next Hermes next month and I am trying to choose from the VictoriaII and the Picotin..Please share your opinions as to the next bag....Thanks

Congrats Lisa!

As for the next bag, definitely try to decide if it's important to you to have a shoulder bag or not. The Victoria works for plenty of people as a shoulder bag, but you should really be sure it will work as one for you if you are interested in it for that purpose. It's a lovely bag, lined in herringbone toile, and it comes with a clochette, keys and lock which is a nice little added "bonus".
The Picotin comes in several sizes and in fact the biggest one (TGM, or tres grand modele) is pretty huge. It does fit easily over a shoulder, but it's the only Picotin size that will. They are all unlined, and very lightweight. Bear in mind that they really don't close at the top, though; some people care about this.
Both bags come in some luscious colors, and if you have your heart set on a specific color, you should be able to get it in either the Picotin or the Victoria since they come in the same leather.
