I live in AD as well but went to Dubai mall branch and I had my name on the waiting list for a Kelly bag. The SA told me that I should wait for two years and a half! Do you believe that! I should receive my bag next year! Time flies so fast so I'm going to order a Birkin bag this time.

Thanks for the info! I got told at the Hermes store in Etihad towers the wait for a birkin would be 12-18 months...so should here soon I hope!

I have ordered a bag in Dubai mall branch almost 2 years ago!!! still nothing, but having said so I did change the leather and the colour couple of times. They insured me that making those changes would not affect the delivery time, but...maybe it was a bad idea. PLus, it doesn't help that I'm waiting for 30cm one, and apparently the waiting list for that size is much longer.
Also, just to share a secret with you .... time to time, on the edge of a big holiday (i.e Eid, xmas, new year, ..etc) you might find a "surprise" item! I have seen b and k! It would probably not be the your dream bag, but still nice to see it on the shelf! :)

Hi ladies in Abu Dhabi/Dubai, I had my name in the waiting list since may 2012 at Abu Dhabi, etihad towers and got called to collect my order last week!! A birkin 35 black GHW Togo leather:-) too excited for words. I am now on the wait list again for a 30cm B in any colour but definitely Togo as I am not so careful with my bags sometimes and Togo is the most resilient.

Wow congrats! that was fast right?. I've been told that the new orders will take up to three years instead of two years and a half! The SA said that they receive 100 bags a year and they distribute them to all branches at the end of the year. When I asked her what year are you distributing right now, she said 2011! I made my order in August 2012 so I probably get mine at the end of next year.

I was in Dubai Mall one month ago. The lady in the store told me that there was a three years waiting list and for enter to the list, I must be a resident. I live in Saudi Arabia, so I will try to enter the list in Bahrain (It is closer than Riyadh).

One question for you that already had that experience: Do you pay the bag when you order it? Or just make a deposit and pay the rest when you pick it up, How it works?

You pay no money; just put your name on the wish list. The less specific you are the quicker a bag is to be offered. I waited 17months in Abu Dhabi, however the called me 12 months after I registered in the list but I was abroad for the summer. Good luck:-)

Was this in Abu Dhabi? My SA said 12month wait for my new wish...if not sooner...I do wonder what some SA for H across the world are told to say...

Yesterday, I went to Hermes in Manana-Bahrain. I asked what I need to do in order to be in the list. The SA told me that the list is closed for the rest of the year due to the amount of orders, and that they will start to take new orders in February.

I was ok with that, but then, I started to look videos on YouTube about "tips to get a Hermes bag.” Some videos said that in order to get a Hermes bag, you must buy many stuff in Hermes (same store, same SA)and then, after you establish a relationship with a particular SA. Maybe he/she will be willing to add you to the list or even offer you a bag if they have on hide in the store, Is that true?

Since, I was in the store; I started to ask for other items. I was looking for a new card holder and a new agenda cover, but they did not have any of the first and the color of the agenda’s cover where not my favorites, so I leave with the hands empty. Basically, they only they have in store are scarfs, but I do not like scarf, I never use them.

I am a little disappointed;I do not want to buy things that I do not like just to get what I really want.

So, it is true that one must be a frequently client of a SA to be in the list?

I'm not too sure tbh you hear so many different things. I have not bought much from Abu Dhabi, but from various Hermes stores around the world. So I wouldn't say I have a relationship with a SA. However, Abu Dhabi is a small place so the SA recognises me and I always carry Hermes. I wouldn't like to guess if I got the bag because of the waiting list or because I always visit Hermes...

I from Abu Dhabi too and recently put my name in Hermes Etihad Towers. The SA told me the waiting list could be for one year.

I just put my name and forgot about it. Until then...

Speaking of Hermes, went to the Dubai Mall store (they know me well now since I'm always in there haha) but I couldn't really find anything as the selection was disappointing. Etihad towers is further away so not easy to just visit but is stock there generally better?

To me, the stock is much better, as are the SA! I went to Dubai 3 weeks ago and was very disappointed. There we NO bags at all and the SA looked at me like I was rubbish. Maybe if I was a regular they would have shown me some bags? I did ask and said I live in Abu Dhabi and regularly shop at Etihad towers. This didn't make any difference. I'm going to a Hermes event on Tuesday so can message a list of what they have on the shelf if that's any help?

Just saw this and never got a notification for it! Anyway, you don't have to bother with that but I really appreciate the offer! Enjoy it and have a great time :D I'll go to the AD store some time soon then to check it out
