Double face guepards is an odd scarf. I do love the previous versions of the design (from the original and reissue) but adding those paisleys, and texture to the design - really? It reminds me of the Jungle love - started with classic, then added all sorts of things (rainbow, tatoo, what else), and then went back to classic and issued one forever (which ended up being a hit).

Probably looks better IRL, vintage Dalle's Guépards looks fab close-up, and folded quite elegant. I have a few of his designs, but not this one. Just not sure of the variation, takes the 'danger' and thrill out of the big cats.

This variation is a very odd combo of English countryside and African big-cat study. Are they thinking British, Victorian husband and wife combined? They had their own bedrooms for a reason. I'd like to go into Hermes workshop and have a word.
. You most certainly have my proxy :hugs:

I have to agree, I was a little confused by the paisleys as well. It's not my favorite iteration of the design

I think the Guepards could be nice in person too. The sticker sheet comment was in reference to the last design in that post with the little whimsical animals.

Will need to see and try these in person I think and reserve judgement until then.

The 2nd DF looks to be of a Japanese garden style (bush & tree pruning shapes, stone lantern style) but will leave it to others who are better at it to identify the flora and fauna. This might be the sleeper hit of the season.
I also got that feeling about that design reminding me of Japanese garden style with the trees etc. I cant tell which cw I like best though.

I was quite surprised to learn through another source that this is reportedly titled "Emile and a Night" and is by Virginie Jamin. Seems atypical of her style, certainly her recent designs...

The title in French would be "Émile et une nuit", which is a clever word play on "Les mille et une nuits" (One Thousand and One Nights aka the Arabian Nights) so definitely a fairy tale reference here!

I always have to see both sides of the DF in detail because they often surprise me (sometimes one side ends up being similar to a beautiful finesse or a color block etc) but on the front side of this, the majestic cats are not really shown to advantage with all the details-- minimizing the danger is an excellent way to put it @papertiger. I agree that sometimes the remixes are a stretch and I say that as someone who is very open to them....
still early days. I'm sure there will be something for everyone at the end of the day
This is so wise to say and important to remember @texas87. For me I sometimes am surprised months later shopping in store that something I dismissed is actually quite lovely or fills a need...

Thank you for the title intel @yuzulife-- and @FA73-- agree that the word play on the Emile et une Nuit is supremely clever. I am very agnostic this season but I am intrigued by seeing the Jamin and that second DF in person. I wasn't attracted to the 70s but the cws on I Love the Flowers are very fun. And thanks and appreciation always to @cascade2021 and @momoc for the photos and everyone else who is sleuthing out the season bit by bit!
