Wowza @Lellabelle! Loved your story, and you look absolutely stunning in both cw’s!! Isn’t the pink/blue/purple amazing? We share a favorite color in purple. And all your ties are very helpful - thanks, that’s lots of work to tie and photograph!

The green is amazing on you as well!! It’s almost as if its an entirely different print, but it looks so rich in another way. I’m stunned and like you I’m not usually drawn to green. Hmmm. Another cw to ponder.

How exciting! I laughed when you said they will be put away for gifts, my Valle is supposed to be for Christmas, but I can’t bring myself to hand it over :P When the bleu cw came up and I ordered, I thought ”well the bleu will be for Christmas”. Then they cancelled it! What now!

Its great fun to share this sugary treat from Ugo with everyone - thanks again for all your pics and enjoy!!

Thanks so much for your kind words @DrTr! This design looks stunning however you tie it, and there’s actually more variation with the corners than I was expecting, even if it’s more in a tonal way than specifically in the design. It’s actually an interesting prospect, as it means you can change the intensity and tone by favouring different areas, rather than featuring different graphic elements, like with some more differentiated designs. I found I didn't have to think about it at all. Basically, if you like the look overall, any way you tie it will produce a joyful variation.

It’s also surprisingly easy to feature the unicorn (unlike some other much-loved designs - C’est la fete, I am looking at you, you beautiful weirdo!)

If you get a chance to look at the green, its a worthy choice also. I was so surprised at how stunning it is in person. Rich is the word; it’s full of lovely blues and turquoise and emerald and jade, and the pattern only adds to the dimensionality. Like looking into a mineral pool.

I have no idea how I will manage to wait until Christmas… 🤣

Love the storyline and photos. You look fabulous in both, so glad they went home! Twins on both! 🦄

Both are so pretty for you and what a fun trip to the boutique this must have been.

Very very pretty and so inspiring for me to try new knots too! Thank you and enjoy your scarves, they are stunning on you!

Both are stunning @Lellabelle! Thank you for the numerous ties. Congratulations on these beauties.
Thank you all! It really was a fun trip @Maedi. I live a long way from a boutique, so in person trips are a rare treat.

Sorry, but there should not be so much pain involved in buying a scarf. How long have you been collecting? Do you have more than 100 scarves in your collection? Scarves come and go. None of the contemporary scarves are going to become impossible-to-find grails, so I wouldn't worry either way. You buy it and decide to rehome it later. You don't buy it, you want it later, and you find it. I hope you feel better!
You are totally right!! Not sure why I’m scrutinizing this decision. Usually I know if something is a yes or no.

I think part of the FOMO is (as you mentioned in another post) the resale market costs being outrageous.

Regarding scarf count I have about a dozen of the various size formats but I’m a minimalist at heart and don’t want my count to increase unless I absolutely want said item and will use it. Maybe a little TMI but I’m also coming to terms with entering my 40s and have been overthinking “what’s age appropriate”. Not that I judge anyone that has different tastes than I, but for me personally I’m in a rediscovery phase with weight gain and getting older.

Anyway I think we’ve all made some great points and I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and perspectives. It has been helpful!! Thanks all

We were curious about color families. Just realized the new green vallee de cristal looks a lot like my Flowers of South Africa.
I noticed that many of the greens and blues from the green La Vallee are in my green Le Pegase d'Hermes as well. No peachy pink in the Pegase, which I consider a plus, as peach is not one of my better colors.

Thank you for your numerous shots / ties of your two gorgeous Vallees @Lellabelle! I wasn't immediately captured by the design but seeing all of the mod shots and yours especially has left me seriously tempted by both of those colorways. They are both solidly right inside my comfort zone and the design looks like it ties effortlessly. What to do, what to do! I still have multiple colorways of the Jaguar Colibri shawl on my wishlist and hoping for more colorways of the Alice Shirley Orphees to make an appearance. My bank account is crying!

Absolutely ditto this!!

So, on Saturday I “did a thing”, as our dear @bunnycat would say. Two things in fact. Like others here, I have been obsessing about Vallee since the very first sneak preview pics at the end of June. This was the one silk this season that was a ‘must have’ for me and, like @DrTr, I knew that the 01 pink and purple confection was the one for me. These colours are right in my wheelhouse (purple has always been my favourite colour), and the colourway overall is just so perfect for the 80’s iconography that it was impossible to resist.

I put my name down months ago and got the call last week. Made the trip in on Saturday to pick up - SO excited! My lovely SA had put aside both colourways they received for me - 01 and 02 (already modelled beautifully by our dear @Ladybaga). When I got there, I tried the purple, which was instant love: DH and lovely SA agreed! My surprise was that they had just received, and put on hold for me, the green 06. I have very little green in my wardrobe and my SA knows it’s not something I gravitate towards. She said the moment she saw it, she knew it would be perfect for me as it matched my eyes. I was worried this would be too grassy green, based on the web pictures, but it has gorgeous blue and turquoise tones that make it a surprisingly stunning silk. And yes, she was right. DH insisted this one come home with us too.

Okay, I’ve rambled on enough in my excitement and we’ve had lots of great pics and thoughts shared already, so I’ll just get to it. Both of these will be put aside for future gifts, but I was able to take some quick mod shots today to share with our wonderful community here. Hopefully, they help with some decisions, as so many of you have helped me. And, without trying to convince anyone, I am home, was wearing jeans and a simple white sweater, and these were quick throw-ons with no effort made to style them. I love bright colours and contrasts, and this really is a ”throw and go”, wear-anywhere prospect for me. I cannot say enough how much I ADORE these!

One last thought for anyone who is worried about the brightness of the colour: it’s a very saturated scarf, and the reverse side is actually a very convincing softer version of the design. An ”unintentional double-face” as it were (apologies to whoever coined this descriptor, it is escaping me in this moment and the credit should go to that person). Both sides are lovely. I’ve captured a couple of pics to show this below.

These are like the best collages ever shared on TPF!!! Congrats they are both marvelous.

IKR??!! Like I’m glad the long sought after Vallee de Cristal has arrived but Hermes WHERE ARE THE D’ORPHEES YOU PROMISED ME??!!! I’m about to start hunting for those f*ckers overseas.
