Does anyone in the US know if I’m able to exchange a scarf purchase made in store for a fine piece jewelry? It’s been less than a week. Thanks
They will do the return and put a credit balance on your account. You will then be able to spend the credit balance on whatever you’d like (barring some stores excluding it from leather goods at their discretion).

question? if you return a leather good can you spend the store credit for another leather goods or towards another bag?
Generally no for a bag unless you got a credit on a bag. And even then, a credit for a non QB cannot be used for a QB. If leather non bag, can use on other leather non bag but best to confirm with your store.

thanks for the info ... it is a bag that was returned, but not a quota bag.. and hope the store credit will apply to purchase another bag.

update, you can use the store credit in anyways, QB, or non quota , or anything in the store... thank you
This is accurate; a credit is a credit is a credit and a lipstick credit can be used on a Birkin. (Doesn't mean a Birkin has to be offered, but once the credit is in your account, it can be used on anything.) This applies in the US and France, for sure.

Hi,
I shop in Hawaii and live in CA and bought a pair of shoes last week and when I tried them on at home they feel a tiny bit snug. Im wanting to exchange it for a bigger size at one of my local stores. As long as it is processed as an exchange will my SA keep the sale? TIA

I’d contact the HI SA and ask them what they’d prefer you to do if you’re most interested in maintaining the relationship. I feel like SAs get dinged if their client takes customer service issues elsewhere. And there’s no guarantee your local store will have the shoe/size you want so then would you just return?

Email the SA at the original store, if you give him/her the chance to come-up with the correct size, she/he may be able to come-up with a plan to help you, save you a journey and keep their commission. If s/he can't help you, then I think you'll find it less on your conscience that you look for the next size up at another store. One thing is for sure, shoes need to fit.

Dear TPFers,
I have a complex return story that touches on a lot of the points in this thread, so I thought I would share my experience here to enrich the knowledge of the forum. I will break it up into 4 parts because it's a bit long.
Part 1/4) I purchased a Verrou 21 on H.com and selected pickup in store, to facilitate a potential return since I had never seen the bag in person. I went in to pick it up at FSH, asked to try it on in store, but unfortunately it was way too large on my frame. Since I was in store, I thought to myself I'll ask to see if I can exchange it for another bag. The SA checked with an SM who said OK but only for the same model and that I would have to come back another day with the bag as they didn't have any appointments available that day.

Part 2/4) I come back to FSH a few days later on Friday at lunchtime to see what they can do. Now, normally I should only be able to exchange the Verrou 21 for another Verrou 21, but they told me they hadn't had any in stock for a while so they were willing to let me swap for a Verrou mini if they had any. I am asked to sit and wait for an SA. After 20 min, an SA from RTW comes and I am asked for what I am looking for. Now, since the SA did not specify that it had to be a Verrou, I swing for the fences and ask for a Kelly. :graucho: SA asks for my preferences and goes to see... A little while later, SA comes back and says unfortunately they cannot offer me a QB, but I can have a look at other models. I am offered a Geta, Jypsiere, and 24/24 mini. I like the 24/24 mini most but not the color, so we look for other colors. On the SA's phone it says there should be two other colors in stock, but as it turns out, those were for display only. Finally, the last offer is a 24/24 mini Alligator Touch. My brain explodes, and I make the exchange.

Part 3/4) After my brain has time to cool off, I start to hesitate about the touch bag. It is so beautiful on its own, but something feels like it's not a good fit for my current style. Plus, for the price I could have potentially purchased 2 bags or a QB, and it feels a bit excessive for just a strip of Alligator. So I head back to H after a week, but this time to Sevres since it was closer to another appt I had. When I went to the leather podium, I am told I cannot make an exchange at another store and that anyways I would need an appointment and they don't have any. So I trek back to FSH and they take me pretty much immediately without any fuss (maybe since it was Friday morning). This time I clearly say I am ok with the exact same model, I just don't really feel like the touch bag is for me. The SA is totally sweet but says there isn't any showing up in their iPhone, but they will check the back. A bit later, the SA comes back with a 24/24 mini in Etain, the only one they found, which I accept. For the excess difference between the price of the regular and the touch, the SA checks with her SM and says I may pick another non QB if I'd like. I take an Evelyn TPM since I've had my eye on them for a little while, and the remainder is granted to me in the form of a 1 year store credit. After I leave the leather appointment, I pick up a hair accessory as a gift for my MIL and I am able to use the store credit, which is reissued to me after the smaller purchase (so in theory I could have extended the expiration date I suppose).
