Hermes exceptional sale London

Most people had a handful of items when paying but there were a few ladies in groups with soooo many items in exact duplicates. Shoes, hats and scarves. No way they were for personal use. It made me sad to watch (I had to watch as they were ahead of me in the item / receipt check after payment).
Same every year. Just shows that restricting it to paying VIP Arlettie clients and Hermes clients doesn’t stop reselling

I have returned! Minus my budget and all semblance of being a good decision maker and responsible adult.

Let me preface this by saying the whole process was much more calm and civilised than I expected! Staff were very helpful and friendly. I think the layout flowed nicely.

My gameplan was to head to men’s footwear first, do a quick but clean sweep and move onto women’s shoes. Then head on over to silks and accessories. Then maybe loop back to men’s rtw and women’s rtw.

This started out fine, then I lost myself and just started wandering aimlessly back and forth through the sections 😂

Sadly, hubby is EU43 in shoes and they had nothing of interest - there were nice espadrilles but only in size 40. I did ask if they had other sizes and the kind staff member spent about 10 mins looking through all the boxes and nothing. He said they have been very popular and must have sold out yesterday in the more common sizes.

Women’s shoes for size 36.5 / 37 had an okay selection - lots of Oran in velvet or with embellishment. A few boot styles but nothing of note! I noticed some nice loafers but I think they were in smaller sizes (35/35.5) and there were a few ladies who had commandeered them already! For smaller ladies the selection of Oran was pretty good. I didn’t really look but I think 37.5 and bigger was a bit slim pickings.

Silks were.. okay? I’m not a huge silk or scarf lover so I glossed over that section save for a little browse of twillys.

Accessories section - the belts were all but done and the buckles too. Some hats were available. Those little orange bag charms were readily available when I was there.

Jewellery - nice selection for both men and women! The colours were a little too bright and, well, colourful for my liking. Not much in the way of earrings and necklaces.

Homeware was definitely slim pickings for me. A couple of nice blankets still left but only if it goes with your interiors (which it definitely didn’t for me).

LOVE all the bracelets - seeing these (and some of the shawls other people have) makes me wish I’d gone

I hadn’t planned to buy any bracelets but the Clic Clac and silver patterned one are classic and neutral and match my other stacks so impulse bought them.

So annoyed at myself that I bought the wrong size in the braided men’s bracelet for my hubby.

The bangle is definitely a classic, something I’ve ’meant To buy’ for the past 15 years or so but never have - always something else to buy instead! 🙄

Yes! I actually have it in the thinner width but the pattern is black with PHW. I have a stack that is PHW and white, so this one definitely matches.

I probably browsed and walked around the jewellery section 5 times before I saw this and the Clic bracelet.

What's annoying is that H doesn't have one's size, not available on H.com but turns up at a "sale"
The private shopping events at various H locations have no incentive. H only does the sale twice a year
& at some point in time many of us are getting tired of hearing your size is not available.. really
Leathers, shawls, etc... but they all seem to find their way to a sale
Happen to be a fan of the "orans' & saw several colors on Vestaire that I don't remember even
seeing on H.com or were sold out & here they are chockful at a sale in my size..LOL

Agreed, bizarre. Happened to me with a certain silk scarf cw in a previous year. UK stock is virtually non-exportable/importable once here. Same with a certain boot colour/size so you'd think there were very limited places to look. I bought both at 50% off, but it's either bad business management, bad stocktaking (with a digitized system) or someone, somewhere that literally can't be bothered to check and pretended they did (even though they'd earn commission). My only possible explanation for an excuse is that these things are lurking air-side at Heathrow.

I went at 6pm today and there was still plenty of stock. A good selection thought I agree with some of the previous posters that not as good as previous years. Overall a very pleasant experience as it wasn’t too crowded (other than in the women’s shoe section). Travel to Ally Pally took me less than expected also got there about 35 minutes early. I was offered to go in early or to wait for my slot and a complimentary drink in the little cafe.

I was hoping to find some coats but the selection in my size was underwhelming. Still, I got a lovely chocolate brown long vest/ sleeveless coat thingy, a pair of trousers and a dress, one pair of velvet Orans in bois de rose, a denim bucket hat (someone earlier posted a photo of same one), a big cashmere men’s muffler, a skinny enamel bangle and maxed out my silk limit (although a few were bought as gifts for my mum and mother in law).

Other than coats I was disappointed by virtual lack of CGSMs (cashmere and silk). But a pretty successful trip all in all. Travelling this week but will post photos of my purchases this weekend.

I wanna see the "sleeveless coat thingy"! Sounds interesting and must be fab

Having answered a few of the questions from my 11am slot on Monday, I arrived at the registration desk exactly on time where my invitation was scanned and photo proof of ID shown. I was offered water and walked in immediately.

There are lots of information already on the layout so I won’t go into that but what I will say is there weren’t as many options for silks, shoes sizes 37-38.5 and in the non silk/cashmere RTW sizes EU 36/38/40 as compared to previous years but it was a lot more enjoyable experience with much better organisation and less unruly overcrowding. Prices although better than retail of course, were much higher than in previous years too so somewhat disappointing.

70/90cm scarves £174/£225, studded/beaded Orans £510, cotton t dresses £185/£220/£225 but I’m sure I saw a couple for £165. Shoes, homeware (found it meh) and accessories such as belts and costume Jewellery 50% off retail (no fine jewellery).

I was after leather sneakers and classic boots but there were very slim pickings so walked away with nothing there.

Here are my spoils if it helps those going the second half of the week:

- 4 cotton t shirt dresses (live in these in warmer weather so was great to get these at a fraction of retail 😁)
- Pair of astrologie mix orans £335
- Pair of Oasis £335
- Rivale bracelet in box leather £265
- 90cm silk scarf £225
- Twiilly £95 and
- Double tour be hapi bracelet for hubby £165.

Queues for the tills took less than 30mins so all in all, a much more pleasant experience than in 2021 (wasn’t a fan of the long queues upon arrival & for payment so gave 2022 a miss).

agree about the lesser options and higher prices...i spent a lot of time in the rtw section not because they were many choices but because i wanted to use the full length mirrors there to look at how the shoes look on me!! the mirrors in the shoes section were useless since i can only see my feet and not on the whole person..the colours and design in the rtw section were frankly boring this time. In previous years i had a hard time deciding which pieces to get but nothing caught my eye this time. good for my wallet!

Okay so, who is ready! 😜 here’s my haul from the 2024 Hermes exceptional sale (yesterday 16/09/24)

Orans/Oasis were 50% off
RTW up to 70% off
Twillies £95 each (my gold twilly is now on my gold MK - I can post a pic later)
Fashion Jewellery 50% off

Really pleased!! Just so you are aware there is an “S” stamp on everything so just check for example scarves and twillies to make sure it’s not super obvious.

Ohhhhh if you don’t mind me asking how much were the short sleeved jumpers? Are you allowed more than one oran now?

The silk twillaine in black was £1950 down to £590

The La promenade du matin t shirt was £1080 down to £325

It’s still one oran per person but my two family members that went bought one each. They did say it needs to be under 2 separate transactions.

Soooo if no filming was allowed, why have I just seen something on IG? Someone is asking the same thing in the comments
Probably because someone just decided to flout the rules. Most of us try to be respectful or are too scared of getting told off to try.

I would have filmed or taken some photos but honestly, if those are the rules, I’m not going to risk being told off for some social media clout lol
