It is yet to be seen. The old one was a franchise. This is the first time a flagship store owned directly by H has set foot in Copenhagen.

Most Danes are not much into fashion (they splurge on interior design instead, i.e. lamps and couches that cost like Birkins, even more) so I doubt there will be a big local clientele to speak of. The store will be located in a tourist area so I'm guessing it will cater mostly to tourists, and therefore some purchase is required before being offered B/K/C.

Despite the gloomy weather, today is the grand opening of the new Hermes store in Copenhagen:

True to H style, there is a line outside. :smile:

You see those 4 guys beside doorman? They are forming a queue. It was raining a bit, and one Danish woman did not want to fall in line. She told the doorman that she appreciates dry weather. Doorman told her that she could stand beside him near the door where there is no rain. Cheeky.

They were also giving away golden horse balloons.

I fell in line myself and after about 5 minutes I was let in. It was so pretty inside but unfortunately I was too shy to take pics other than the pretty floor:

Also they gave champagne to the customers:

There was a woman who greeted the customers and who reminded me so much of bababebi, although I'm pretty sure that's not her. Probably the store manager. :biggrin:

One SA at the old franchise store recognized me and asked if I was looking for anything. I said I was looking for a Calvi in barenia. Unfortunately they didn't have it. Despite the opening day, they seem pretty low in stock in bags and SLGs. The SA told me that more bags and leather goods will arrive mid-August.

There was a barenia Halzan, a bright red Bolide 31, a 45 HAC in gold clemence (I think), a Roulis in gold (Swift?), a couple of Verrous in black epsom, two embroidered mini Plumes in exotic.

It was also surprising that was there were a lot of Danes coming in and buying stuff from the store. I thought it would be mostly tourists flocking in.

Though I did not score anything, it was otherwise a great visit because an SA recognized me, and because finally we have a big, beautiful store here in my hometown. Also he spoke Danish to me so he knew I am a local, so there's that. I will beg him again for a Cityback when I return from my holidays :smile:

Thank you Allanrvj for posting the pics. How great you found an SA that you know from the previous store. It looks like a large store based on all their windows. I hope they will get a good and large inventory to match the size of the store.

I forgot to mention that they only occupy the first floor. So it's big but not that big. Around 3-4x the size of the old one.

Thank you allanrvj for the pics and sharing about the store opening. I'm going to visit the store soon and hoping to find a bd present for myself. So exciting that the new store is so much bigger than the old one [emoji3]

Don't forget to ask if they have something that is special for the store. I made a rookie mistake. :p

I was going to try and visit next week but I am so busy. I'll wait until mid August instead.
