Agree, the Orans/Oasis are much more flattering on my feet (and frankly more of my "style"). Totally different look and vibe from the Chypre though, and I've come to love and appreciate the Chypre for what they are.
I do like the vibe/look of the Chypre too, it’s just that they don’t fit me at all. They are so wide.

I can also confirm that this year's Chypre runs true to size! I'm normally 35.5/36, but for the last year's Chypre, I needed to size up to 37. After seeing other TPFers' reviews, I ordered 36(tts), and it fits well just like last's years 37. Finally got a black leather pair after stalking the website for days. :panic:

Hi all, I have a sizing question. I have a pair of the black Chypre purchased last summer. For me, they are true to size, even though many said they ran small last year. I have heard this year’s Chypre are running true to size, so does that mean I would need to size down, considering that I found last year’s Chypre true to size?

I'm so glad I found this thread with several others members echoing my feeling about these dad/birkenstock style. I NEVER wanted to get these, despite all the reviews about them being really comfy.
My SA insisted on having me try them - "No no just try them" "They look really cool" "They are very comfy"
Next moment, I'm in the suede natural chypres (she knows the normal leather H cut-out hurts me like a b$#%$)
And my DH and SA basically strong-armed me into buying them and I'm so glad they did b'z it's crazy how comfy these are...
I just need to hound tpf for style inspiration.
I see these as being my evie tpm in the shoes category...

I am beyond confused about sizing! There’s no H store near me so can’t size shop.
I’m normally a 40 in other luxury brand sandals (eg Gucci). I don’t own any H shoes to compare. I really wanted the black leather white shearling Chypre but smallest size online was 41 (I think they’re men’s?). Are they likely to fit?

I have these. I'm a 39.5 and the size 40 that was presented to me was HUGE. I think a 41 may be too big on you.

Does anyone have feedback on wear and tear to Suede Chypres? I have/love a leather pair, and recently purchased a Natural Suede pair but on the fence on whether or not to keep. They feel more comfortable (!) but I'm worried they'll wear out more quickly. Does anyone have experience with them?

Just got my 1st pair. In beige mastic. I sized up half a size… yes, they are comfortable…. BUT not as comfortable as my Birkinstocks… Excuse the ugly feet photos… I have high arches and wanted to share how “gappy” the Chypres are and don’t provide sufficient arch support… hope this review helps fellow high archers out there… size 37.5 is the same length as size 38 Birkinstocks (sp I meant Birkenstocks  - this is the H forum after all)

That beige color is so modern and crisp. I wanted to get this so much but I found the suede to be much softer on my toes and got the naturel instead.
Im a minority of those folks who find Birkenstocks uncomfortable and can’t wear them for more than a few minutes.
For me the chypres were unbelievably comfy. No break-in time needed.
