Has anyone here tried buying the men's Chypres instead of the women's? I managed to score a pair of Men's 41 (I wear 39 in the Orans). They came in yesterday, but I'm undecided if I want to keep them. I keep thinking they're a bit wide, but it feels like the style itself is wide to begin with. As a side note, I had to tighten the straps so they are more snug around my foot. Otherwise it fits great

Here is a pic - I need a second opinion!

I did buy the Men’s Chypre and had to return it because it was too wide. I wear a 39.5 in Orans and I also got Men’s size 41. I eventually got the Women’s Chypre in size 40.5, still good length-wise but about 0.1 inch narrower. It’s still wide (as you said, I believe that’s the style) but this is a much better fit.

Maybe go down to a size 40. You lose some length (0.3 inches, if that’s ok with you) but get a narrower (0.1 inch less) fit.

I haven’t worn mine yet but just from trying them on around the house I can tell they are going to rub underneath the strap on the top of my foot. As others have suggested, I think a corn plaster or some sort of padding will help. I’m just hoping that over time they get more comfortable as I wanted these sandals to be a workhorse pair! X

thanks @honeybunch and @xwendzx,
I purchased The Row’s “Hook and Loop” for the workhorse pair I was looking for while I am waiting for the Chypre in the meantime. Not the same look as the Chypre, of course, I got an eggshell color, but they are very comfortable so far!

Speaking of The Row, have any of you had experience with the Ginza sandal (flip flop)? They are so gorgeous, but I’ve heard they’re uncomfortable. I’m still waiting for the chypre to come back in the black suede ‍

I have them. Bought them probably 2 years ago? They were definitely very uncomfortable at first - now it's a bit better. The issue is the thong part - it rubs against the toes in a weird way. I only wear them for short distances, definitely not appropriate for a long walking day.

Honest truth, your feet look look so tiny in them. The straps dont look good either pulled all the way/hanging. I know you might not want to hear this but I do not think the fit is perfect.
