Due to a really helpful SA, I was able to get my hands on a pair of Chypre at a boutique. I was trying them on with pop socks at the time, as per their policy, and it was really hard to tell how they fit. I bought a size up from my usual size and having tried them on at home, I’m swimming in them! I have extremely narrow feet so maybe the style doesn’t suit me. I was advised to go a full size up for the length but they are a little too long and they are so wide. So, so disappointed as it will be so hard to get hold of another pair. I’m in the UK and they don’t even appear on the website.

Would a half size down be better for me or a full size? A full size down would be my true size. I’ve heard something about the width being the same between half sizes and the length being the same.
Hi I have skinny feet as well and I went a full size up. If not my heels stick out. You can adjust the straps to make the fit narrower for you. I did that and it was ok for me.hope this helps.

Thanks for this. Did you try the half size up instead of full, or is it pretty much the same size? Maybe I could do with just a half size down although I’ve heard the length is the same as if you’d gone a full size, it’s just the width that’s different.

when you tighten the straps do you tighten them fully so they overlap and stick out at the sides, if you know what I mean??

Yes I did try half size up but my heels stuck out a bit so I decided full size up was better for me. Yes when I tighten the straps they do stick out at the sides But not too much. And with these sandals, the edges curved up and if your feet dont fit inside nicely it’s a bit uncomfortable. I tried the full leather version last season but it was in a colour I wasn’t keen on. I’m keen on the shearling ones for FW22 and I’m hoping shearling will fill up the sandals a bit more so I don’t have to bring in the straps too much. But will have to try and see.

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I have a feeling the half size up is the same length as the half size below. The size I’ve got shows a little bit of extra room at the back. Is that what yours are like? Or do yours fit perfectly? I think I possibly could have done with a half size smaller. I contacted the SA who put the sandals on hold for me originally and apparently they’re not allowed to contact customers anymore when they get Chypre in, so it’s highly unlikely I will get hold of another pair, unless one came up on the website. My feet really are extremely narrow. Even the Orans are wide on me and in most closed shoes my feet are sliding around. I’m currently away, but when I return I’m going to have a play with the straps to see if I can make them tighter! As they are, they won’t even stay on my feet because they’re so wide! Yes, I’ve heard the shearling is a smaller fit.

For me one size up is perfect.but I plan to try again in my store when the shearling ones arrive. Have you considered insoles? It will help tighten the fit.

I just received the shearling Chypre which I snagged online and sent back, I'm size 37 ordered size 38. I'm surprised that it was way too big... hoping I can exchange it to size 37.
I had the same issue with the men's shearling ones in store. I asked for the size 42 and they were way too big. I went with the 41 and they were perfect. My other size 41 Naturel Chypres fit fine but are on the smaller side so my toes are flush against the front raised ledge, and the back of my heel touches the back raised ledge. Not sure if the shearling ones run larger in general.

Couldn't be bothered with the hunt / cat and mouse game so I paid wayyyy over retail for the orange leather and black shearling Chypres from a personal shopper

I'm a true 37 with narrow to normal feet width. The shopper advised 37.5 for the leather and 38 for the shearling as apparently those run smaller than the leather. I fit JUST right in the leather, still waiting to receive the shearling so I'll update once I receive those!

Excuse the old pedi here:

Just an update that the undersides of the straps are *scratchy*!!! I wore them for a few hours tonight and they’re chafed red and sore already :-s why oh why must they be like this?

My feet are still healing from the injuries caused by these sandals…

My tip, get soft corn pads, and stick them on the strap where they chafe you. I did that and it made the sandals a million times more comfortable since then.

Thank you so much for the tip! I'll definitely try that  do you still wear yours often? Or try to space them out between wears?
