I just came in to something that is making my head explode. What it boils down to is that our parent company wants one of our portfolio managers to essentially do something that is MY job function. This person would be evaluating the compliance programs at other investment managers. Exactly what does this person know about my job? Does this mean I could do his job and manage billions of dollars?

Good morning ladies.

Restricter....lol...love the comb over and 6 cans!! I think Winky is going to start looking like my dad!! The nursing home's biggest problem with him is that he steals food!! He is diabetic but doesn't really understand any more and forgets how much he eats. He is and always has been always hungry!! So he goes into the staff pantry and steals their food . Some of the people on his unit are far worse off than him. If they falls asleep at the meal or don't eat fast enough...he takes the food off of their tray!!!

Enjoyed the snow day yesterday. Kids LOVED it!! At work now. DS had an orthodontist appt this am. Then lunch with a friend. Not a bad day for a thursday!!!

I shall never tell, or the paparazzi will give me no peace. (Yeah, right. I'm more likely to appear on People of Walmart.) It's a nice boutique. If I give them some advance notice that I'll be there, they will try to have items of interest available for me. So I have to decide what might be an "item of interest!"

Update to the VCA/JFK Fantasy:

"Unfortunately, the booth is after going through security in the duty free area. I was required to show my boarding pass and then my purchased item was delivered to my gate. I was only able to pick it up while I was boarding my flight. 50% is the best discount I have ever seen on VCA jewelry!"

Finally got Miss O to have a lovely poo. . . had to take her out in the front yard on a leash, find a small area the wind had scoured to a reasonable snow level, and encourage her with lots of loud commands and much excitement. Undoubtedly confirmed the neighbors' opinions that the people who live in our house are "different." Then I put her lovely poo in the back yard (TMI?) in the hopes that she will think, "Hmmm, I don't remember doing this, but it's mine, so I must have, and it must be okay to go here." (Definitely TMI. Sorry.)
And Henry peed upstairs. . . but the good news is he STARTED on the chaise, then thought better of it and FINISHED on the carpet. So he's cogitating about his accidents. I'm so proud.
DH is home in four days. Help me.

Pugsy, I try to always cook a real dinner. So we eat European-style most of the time Late. I made some Chicken Marsala and some funky healthy rice mix and a salad and washed it all down with a lovely Rioja.

Then DD and DH clean up. So it works out.

Lulilu, I sympathize about the meetings. I had 5 hours of them today. Yuck. When these days happen, I can't get any real work done.

It's official, we got 20 inches of snow in my town!! There is snow everywhere! The commute into work was not as bad as yesterday but still bad. There are huge snow banks everywhere. Let's hope there is no more snow for awhile.

Hope everyone has a great day today! I'm feeling a little down today and I'm not sure why. I'm very anti-social. I just want to hide in my bed.

Pugsy, We do try to eat together. We are not always successful. It's stressful to come home and cook a real dinner, but if I have ingredients in the house, I manage.

POTH, Big waves and good luck at the Ortho. My kids were sometimes in pain after the braces were tightened.

Mree, It's OK, we all get that way. BUT, at least you get to enjoy it at home under the covers.

I get to meet my nice SIL for dinner and she's spending the night here. It will be fun to catch up with her.
