There's a bedbug list?! That's so sad. And helpful! You could always try the place I stayed at last time I was in NYC on a tight budget; Hotel 17! Now, when it says Madonna stayed there - they're talking about Madonna when she was like 20 and hitting the club scene! Before she had her first hit! The rooms are tiny and you have shared bathrooms but, they are lickably clean! I had a writing seminar not too far from there and thought I'd give it a whirl. The neighborhood was awesomely fun. I was soooo overdressed for the folks staying there :D

Have you tried Jetsetter? Sometimes they have great deals you can use?

Pugsy, I just love your new bag! How fun to travel to get it!

I usually have pretty good luck in NYC with hotels. It depends on much time in advance my secretary is trying to get me a hotel. I usually stay at a decent downtown hotel. (Or I change my plans lol).
