Got back from my vacation. House and kitties are OK. I didn't break my leg and I finally learned to ski parallel. We went to Mont Tremblant. What a beautiful resort. Great food and shopping too. It was cold. 10 degrees at the top of the mountain and 14 at its base.

We had a brief stay in Montreal. Then what ended up being close to a 14 hour drive home. It should have taken about 11 hours, so we hit lots of traffic.

We had to stop at MIL's for a couple of reasons. My 87-year-old FIL had kidney stones and was in the hospital. They also found he has an aortic aneurism, but it is not life threatening at the moment. But my in-laws have had an awful couple of days. It's so hard with aging parents.

Second, I left the SO birkin there while I was traveling. DH told me that my MIL went on ebay and saw the same bag (re-seller) there for $25K. So she thinks I paid that much for the bag. Now I need to explain to her how much I really paid for the bags. Oy.

BTW, sending good traffic vibes to Cakey. Nothing worse than sitting in the parking lot that is I-95.

No, you don't...just say "I didn't pay that much, the seller is looking to make a buck. It is EB after all...." and leave it at that.:D

EB - sorry to hear about your FIL being in hospital, hope he is ok :hugs: Was it the SO Black Birkin that you left there? Booo to her checking ebay to how much it was going for!!! That must've given her some shock. Just explain to her that the markup on eBay for Birkins is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. Say you pay triple / quadruple the price or something. If she thinks that $10k would be absolutely insane then don't tell her you paid $10k!

So today SO and I went into town to get some printer ink for printing out his photos. I walked by H on the way to the camera shop but I didn't go in. Booooo.

We went to IKEA then after that to get some photo frames. So I got out today at least, yay!

OMG. So here's the latest. War of words on SF and someone used MrsSparkles' ID, prompting a post here. I had a feeling that a ban was coming and I think we're getting close. Zounds.

I had to move Smuffy's appointment because the vet's parking lot is a danger zone. Sigh. Meanwhile, Winky just had his exam and his kidney is slightly enlarged so they are going to X-ray. No worries here. Winky is indestructible, like box leather. Probably an infection or a kidney stone.

Okay, off to eat some lunch and prepare myself for round two.

Thanks Avril!! Glad you got out of the house.

Hope Winky is ok. That's terrible that the parking lot is a danger zone. So isn't mine. They did such a bad job this year although I shouldn't complain, I hear NY is even worse. Crazy.

I just agreed to work early tomorrow and every day from now on. I must be insane. :p

Avril: Don't you just love Ikea? I can't believe how cheap they are and a lot of things in my apartment are from there.

Two guests down (on way home via Amtrak), five to go. I am hanging in there, but they are slightly more visibly eager to leave than even the most exasperated hostess might wish. However, if I have to do one more mother-lovin' load of laundry related to these people, I'm gonna lose it for good. I am staying upstairs, sick, watching bad daytime tv and wrangling Henry, whose natural exuberance is logarithmically increased by cabin fever.
